The selected candidate will have an opportunity to be part of a large Environment, Health & Safety organization in the role of an EH&S Specialist. The selected candidate must be a self-starter, energetic and able to work in a fast-paced collaborative team environment.

This ideal candidate will have relevant Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) experience with strength in developing and implementing creative injury reduction programs or campaigns. The candidate should have a demonstrated track record of continuous improvement towards EHS compliance programs, and the ability to prioritize and provide timely support for multiple customers, requests and projects daily. The selected candidate should have strong communications, interpersonal skills to influence internal and external groups including engineers, factory line employees and management.

What You Will Do

Assigned EH&S duties may include but are not limited to:

• Under the direction of the site EH&S Manager, implement and manage environmental, health and safety programs including, but not limited to, office and industrial Ergonomics, Contractor Safety, Sustainability, Machine Guarding, Incident Investigation, Self Inspections, PIV, Fall Protection and all other programs within the EHS umbrella. Programs assignments can change and the candidate may be required to manage and implement additional and/or other EHS programs.
• Develop initiatives, best management practices and advise employees on questions or concerns related to ergonomics and environmental compliance.
• Evaluate assigned programs for opportunities for improvement
• Coordinates awareness and communication of policies and procedures in accordance with industry and government regulations.
• Collaborates across departments to achieve and maintain consistency of EHS program implementation.
• Conduct regular inspections of buildings and project sites for compliance with EHS programs.
• Leads internal and external regulatory inspections.
• Interpret and communicate regulatory compliance and company policy to affected management and employees.
• Attend meetings regularly to brief employees and leaders on EH&S related topics.
• Collaborate with factory management on projects to solve complex process related issues.
• Perform analysis of leading and lagging safety performance indicators for trends to drive corrective actions.
• Serve as EHS representative for assigned building and functional safety council.
• Conduct incident and injury investigations and root cause analysis, develop corrective actions and track to completion.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of EHS strategic initiatives that drive continuous improvement.
• Participate in HazMat emergency response, medical emergencies and enterprise preparedness programs. Including after-hours emergency response.
• Provide instructor led training on various EHS topics.
• Participate in internal and external audits including Cal OSHA VPP, AS9100 and other internal company assessments.
• Travel to support other sites or regions on audits, or Raytheon wide initiatives.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience supporting industrial hygiene programs, environmental compliance, safety programs or ergonomics.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Bachelor's degree in related fields in Environmental, Occupational Health, Ergonomics.
• Ability to effectively organize and manage multiple projects and programs in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate effective prioritization and implementation skills.
• Prior relevant experience managing environmental compliance, ergonomics programs.
• Experience in the development and execution of RCCAs.
• Experienced in conducting and developing creative EH&S training.
• Experience in HazMat Emergency Response. 40-hour HazWoper.
• CSP, CHMM or other certifications.
