Ice Detection System Designer (M/F)

Job Description:

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for an Ice Detection System Designer to join ourAirbus Commercial design office inToulouse, France.

You will join an international, diverse and empowered team working on broad range of systems and products (Detection, Protection for Wing and Nacelle, engine icing…) aiming to :

• Maintain in-service and implement necessary evolutions of detection and protection systems against icing environment
• Define new detection and protection systems adapted to future programmes

Your challenges :

You will Lead design activities enabling use of new technologies for Ice Detection :

• Define Primary Ice Detection Operational Concept
• Understand and refine System requirements and architecture,
• Monitor thermal studies to guarantee adequate ice detection performance to the requirements,
• Lead workpackages with suppliers as part of projects aiming to demonstrate maturity of candidate technologies : convert system architecture into specification, follow-up suppliers design activities and define V&V strategy (Model, Icing Wind Tunnel Tests, Flight Tests, other…), .
• Ensure integration and interfacing with aircraft systems

Activities are conducted in close contact with other engineering teams:, Aerodynamics, Handling Qualities, Performance, Certification, Powerplant, Structure, Safety, Operations…

Your boarding pass :

• Degree in mechanical/aeronautical engineering
• Knowledge of Fluid dynamics, thermal, thermodynamic engineering
• Knowledge of System Development Processes and Physical Installation
• Basic understanding of Aerodynamics, Handling Qualities and Performance
• Understanding of Certification principles. Experience with CS25 subpart B would be a plus.
• Project Management basics
• You are dynamic, positive, curious, passionate and creative.
• You like to learn and to collaborate with a high diversity of people.
• Negotiation level of English
• Intermediate level of French with a willingness to learn is desirable
