What Makes This Opportunity Unique Â
As a Robotics & Automation Technician, you will be hands-on with the robots that keep one of the world’s most advanced semiconductor sites moving. Our fleet supports delivery, picking and loading operations across the whole of F10 – Probe, Fab, Smart Warehouse, bridges and supporting facilities – using autonomous mobile robots, collaborative robots (CoBOTs) and other automation platforms. You will operate and maintain these systems, recover them when they fault, and drive Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) so that availability keeps climbing, supported by agentic AI tools that help with troubleshooting and error management. This is a frontline role for someone who enjoys working with real machines, learning fast, and seeing the direct impact of their work every shift. If you are starting your career in robotics and automation and want to grow with a team deploying Physical AI in manufacturing, come build with us at Micron. Â
Responsibilities Â
- Operate and support the full robotics and automation fleet – autonomous mobile robots, CoBOTs and associated automation platforms – delivering material handling, picking and loading operations across Probe, Fab, Smart Warehouse, bridges and supporting facilities. Â
- Serve as the robotics point-of-contact for your assigned shift – monitor operations, publish shift announcements, handle escalations, and deliver clear passdowns to the next shift. Â
- Monitor jobs and missions end to end (start, ETA, completion, timeout), communicate delays to requestors, and arrange recovery, re-delivery or manual handling in line with site SOPs. Â
- Troubleshoot and recover faulted robots – diagnose mechanical, electrical and software issues, perform safe recovery and manual override, restore equipment to a safe state, escalate urgent issues, and log incidents accurately. Â
- Drive Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) – execute autonomous and planned maintenance routines, carry out daily equipment checks, monitor component health and wear-part lifespans, manage spares replenishment, and file maintenance evidence. Â
- Support continuous improvement under TPM – analyse breakdown and error paretos, identify recurring loss sources, and propose practical countermeasures that reduce manual intervention and improve availability, throughput and success rate. Â
- Use agentic AI tools in daily operations to support fault diagnosis, error management and automated data collection – validating AI-generated recommendations before acting and escalating to engineers when a situation falls outside the playbook. Â
- Champion safety first – comply with ESH, LOTO and risk assessment requirements, maintain safe zones and clearances at pick-up, drop-off and staging areas, and uphold housekeeping standards in human-robot shared environments. Â
- Maintain operational readiness across all zones – upkeep of maps, routes, waypoints, staging and transition points, docking and charging positions, connectivity checks, and fixture/gripper setup for CoBOT stations. Â
- Support deployment and commissioning of new robotic solutions – assist engineers with installation, trials, acceptance testing, and rollout of new routes, stations and workflows across F10. Â
- Maintain documentation and training records (maintenance logs, incident reports, R&A/OJT evidence) and coach users on collection windows, drop-point clearance, and contingency flows. Â
Requirements Â
- Nitec / Higher Nitec / Diploma in Mechatronics, Robotics, Automation, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field of study. Â
- Fresh graduates are welcome; exposure to mobile robots, collaborative robots, or automated equipment in a warehouse, logistics or manufacturing environment is an advantage. Â
- Hands-on and practical – comfortable with mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, hand tools, and working around moving equipment. Â
- Understanding of maintenance fundamentals; prior exposure to TPM or preventive maintenance practices is a plus. Â
- Open to working with AI tools as part of daily work, and able to attain foundational AI proficiency through Micron’s AI learning pathways. Prior exposure to AI-assisted diagnostics is an advantage but not required. Â
- Strong safety mindset and willingness to follow and improve standard operating procedures. Â
- Willing to work on a rotating shift pattern, including nights and weekends, to support 24/7 operations. Â
- Comfortable with digital tools – Microsoft 365 and Teams, fleet and equipment dashboards, and enterprise systems such as SAP/MATREQ; basic scripting or Python is a plus. Â
- Good verbal and written communication skills, with the discipline to write clear passdowns and incident logs. Â
- Embrace challenges with a strong work ethic, proactive to collaborate, and able to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Â
What Success Looks Like Â
- High mission and job success rate across delivery, picking and loading operations. Â
- Strong equipment availability (MA%) and a growing share of faults auto-recovered or prevented through TPM. Â
- Fast, well-documented incident response and complete shift passdowns. Â
- Full adherence to the maintenance schedule with timely evidence submission. Â
