Are you ready to use your legalexpertise to support an organization making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities?The May Institute is seeking an Associate Counsel with a strong interest in employment law to join our legal team in Randolph, MA.

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience acrossemployment law as primary responsibilitywithadditional responsibilities incontract management, regulatory compliance, and general legal matters while partnering closely with Human Resources, Finance, operational programs, external counsel, insurers, and other corporate stakeholders.

A significant focus of this position will beemployment law willbepartnering with HR and external employment counsel on matters involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and other employment-related issues. Employmentlawresponsibilitieswillalso includereviewing and drafting employment-related agreementsandresponding to legal requests for employment records. Additionalduties will becontractnegotiating anddraftingas wellas supportto the organizationoninterpretation ofapplicable regulations andassisting GeneralCounselwith avariety oflegal matters.

Your Skills & Talents: A Winning Combination!

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

• Strong interest in and/or experience withemployment law, including employment agreements, employment claims, severance/release agreements, and applicable employment regulations.

• Experience with contract preparation, review, and negotiationstrongly preferred.

• Strong legal research, analytical, writing, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate legal concepts clearly to non-legal stakeholders.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

• Ability to manage and organize files, records, and legal communications.

• Knowledge of procurement and contracting regulations preferred.

• Ability to work collaboratively with Human Resources, Finance, operational leaders, external counsel, insurers, and other stakeholders

• Compensation:$110,000-$125,000
