Recreation Specialist

Program: Hamilton Hotel | 30 Hamilton Place, Manhattan, NY 10031

What You’ll Do

As a Recreation Specialist, you will work under the supervision of the Recreation Coordinator and with school-age children living in one of our temporary family shelters, and lead them in developmentally appropriate activities. You’ll also participate in community outreach to obtain in-kind donations, service linkages, and other resources for the children in our program.  

Some of the activities you’ll lead are:

• STEM projects.

• Arts and Crafts.

• Computer literacy.

• Homework help and education support.

• Development of life skills.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all participants in recreational activities.
  
  
• Performing other duties as assigned by supervisory staff.

You’re a great fit for this role if you:

• Are creative, responsible, patient, kind, and caring.

• Enjoy working with children.  

• Have strong organizational and time management skills 

• Have a valid US driver’s license.

• Have an Associate’s degree.
