Technical Leader (Fullstack)

We are looking for an experienced Technical Leader who is passionate about building scalable, high-quality software, and creating the kind of engineering team where talented people can grow, collaborate, and do their best work.

In this role, you will combine technical leadership with hands-on development. You will guide the technical direction of the team, mentor engineers, strengthen engineering practices, and help create an environment that attracts strong talent and supports long-term team growth. You will also play a key role in shaping both our platform architecture and product vision.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers, helping individuals grow while establishing best practices, coding standards, and a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
• Build an attractive and collaborative engineering environment where developers can perform at their best, develop their capabilities, and make a meaningful impact.
• Strengthen the team’s technical capabilities and ways of working as the organisation grows.
• Architect, develop, and maintain scalable applications across both frontend and backend systems.
• Build modern user-facing applications using React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
• Design and develop reliable backend services, APIs, integrations, and data flows using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Set clear technical direction and take ownership of the overall technical roadmap, balancing delivery speed, scalability, maintainability, and code quality.
• Create clarity around technical priorities and empower engineers to take ownership of solutions and outcomes.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Ensure the performance, security, reliability, and availability of applications and services, with a strong focus on maintainability and zero-downtime deployments.
• Leverage AI tools and emerging technologies to increase team efficiency, improve the developer experience, and enhance the end-user product.
• Lead technical discussions, evaluate new technologies, and proactively identify opportunities to improve and evolve our technology stack.
• Contribute hands-on throughout the development lifecycle, including solution design, implementation, code reviews, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement.
  
  

Skills & Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in software development, with at least 4 years in a lead role.
• Strong fullstack development experience, with the ability to work confidently across frontend and backend systems.
• Deep knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Strong proficiency in React and Next.js.
• Solid experience developing backend services and APIs using Node.js and frameworks such as Express or NestJS.
• Good understanding of databases, system integrations, cloud infrastructure, and modern software architecture.
• Demonstrated experience using AI tools and workflows to improve the development process and enable teams to work faster and smarter.
• Experience leading or mentoring developers, conducting code reviews, establishing engineering standards, and setting technical direction.
• Strong understanding of software quality, security, performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Experience working closely with product and design teams to turn business and user needs into effective technical solutions.
