Job Title: AWS Cloud Backend / API Developer (6+ Years)
Job Description:
We are looking for an AWS Cloud Backend / API Developer with 6+ years of experience in designing, developing, and managing scalable backend APIs and serverless applications. The role focuses on building high-performance, secure APIs to expose data to web and mobile applications using AWS AppSync, API Gateway, and GraphQL. This is an API-focused role, not ETL or data engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and deploy GraphQL APIs using AWS AppSync.
  • Build and manage REST APIs using AWS API Gateway integrated with AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS, and other AWS services.
  • Implement API security and authentication using Cognito, IAM roles, or custom authorizers.
  • Optimize API performance including query efficiency, caching, throttling, and rate-limiting.
  • Integrate multiple data sources, including RDS, DynamoDB, and external APIs, into unified APIs.
  • Develop serverless backend logic using AWS Lambda, including event-driven architectures and real-time updates via AppSync subscriptions.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using CloudFormation or Terraform.
  • Monitor APIs and backend services using CloudWatch and X-Ray, troubleshooting performance or reliability issues.
Required Skills:
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS services: AppSync, API Gateway, Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS, Cognito, CloudFormation.
  • Expert in GraphQL schema design, queries, mutations, and resolvers.
  • Proficiency in Python, Node.js, or Java for backend development.
  • Deep understanding of serverless architecture patterns and best practices.
  • Experience with real-time data handling, API security, and scalable API design.
