
Aviation Operation Manager
AnOperations Manager in Aviation is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of an airport, airline, or aviation-related company. The role involves ensuring that all operations run smoothly, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory standards.
Key responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day airport or airline operations to ensure smooth and timely services.
Supervise ground operations, aircraft handling, baggage handling, and crew coordination.
Ensure all operations comply with aviation regulations (FAA, EASA, or local regulations).
Maintain safety standards for aircraft operations, ground handling, and passenger services.
Lead and coordinate the work of various teams such as ground crew, air traffic controllers, and customer service staff.
Handle staffing levels, training, and performance management of the operational team.
Coordinate flight schedules, gate assignments, and airport resources to ensure on-time departures and arrivals.
Liaise with pilots, cabin crew, and other relevant departments.
Develop budgets and manage operational costs to ensure profitability and efficiency.
Monitor expenses related to fuel, aircraft maintenance, staffing, and logistics.
Oversee customer service functions to ensure high standards in handling passengers and resolving complaints.
Monitor passenger flow, security checks, check-in counters, and baggage claims.
Manage emergency situations such as delays, cancellations, or aircraft emergencies.
Ensure effective communication with passengers, staff, and relevant authorities during crises.
Prepare reports on operational performance, including delays, safety issues, and financial performance.
Ensure that all necessary documentation, such as flight records and maintenance logs, is accurate and up to date.
Skills and Qualifications:
Typically, a bachelor's degree in aviation management, business, logistics, or a related field.
10+ years of experience as an operation manager and at least 5 in the aviation industry
Strong ability to lead, motivate, and manage a diverse team.
Ability to make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment, especially during disruptions.
Excellent communication skills to coordinate with internal teams and external partners.
Familiarity with international and domestic aviation regulations (e.g., FAA, ICAO).
