Java Full Stack Developer (React Native)

We are seeking aJava Full Stack Developer (React Native) to build and support backend-driven applications for a global data and analytics leader across Australia and New Zealand. This is a Java-first role focused on Spring Boot services, with mandatory React and React Native experience to support web and mobile experiences. You will work across managed-services environments, collaborate with ANZ stakeholders, and adopt AI-assisted engineering tools where relevant.

Responsibilities

• Build and enhance Java backend services that support web and mobile application experiences
• Develop and maintain Spring Boot applications aligned to engineering standards
• Deliver production-ready React and React Native features while maintaining a Java-first engineering focus
• Support live applications including incident triage, fixes and continuous improvement
• Work across multiple applications in a managed-services environment and switch context as priorities change
• Collaborate with ANZ stakeholders to refine requirements and manage delivery priorities
• Contribute to cloud and container-based delivery in Amazon Web Services environments
• Use AI-assisted development tools to improve build quality and delivery speed
• Participate in shift-based support coverage as needed to meet operational requirements

Requirements

• Strong Java backend development experience as the primary skill for this role
• Spring Boot capability for building and maintaining production applications
• Experience building and supporting backend-driven applications across modern engineering environments
• Solid React experience as a must-have supporting skill
• Hands-on React Native experience as a must-have supporting skill, without positioning the role as Android/mobile-first
• Exposure to cloud-native or cloud-based application development environments
• Clear communication for working with Australia and New Zealand stakeholders
• Adaptability, flexibility and stakeholder communication skills for working across changing priorities
• Problem-solving approach suited to production support and incident response
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools or coding assistants is beneficial

Nice to have

• Node.js exposure
• AWS experience, as AWS is the preferred cloud platform within the portfolio
• Banking and Financial services domain experience
• Experience in managed services, KTLO operations, continuous improvement ways of working
• Spec-Driven Development (SDD) and Test-Driven Development (TDD) experience
