Job Title: QE Automation Engineer

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced QE Automation Engineer to lead test strategy, automation framework development, and quality delivery across data, API, and UI layers. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on automation experience, expertise in Java-based testing frameworks, the ability to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines, and practical experience using AI-assisted tools to improve testing efficiency and quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks using Selenium, Java, Cucumber BDD, and Serenity or similar tools.

• Develop and execute API automation tests using Rest Assured.

• Perform SQL-based data validation and quality checks across data pipelines, ETL processes, MDM, and Data APIs.

• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and support in-sprint automation.

• Plan and execute unit, integration, API, smoke, system, and performance testing.

• Manage test data, test planning, and test execution across complex data and cloud environments.

• Test applications and data platforms involving relational databases, ETL tools, and data warehouse architectures.

• Leverage AI-assisted tools, such as GitHub Copilot or Claude, for test creation, code development, test-data preparation, defect analysis, and documentation.

• Review and validate AI-generated outputs before use, ensuring accuracy, quality, security, and compliance with applicable data-handling requirements.

• Adapt to evolving AI capabilities by evaluating relevant tools and incorporating them responsibly into QE workflows.

• Collaborate with developers, data engineers, product owners, and QE leaders in an Agile delivery environment.

• Support QE strategy, coordinate testing across product and portfolio teams, and contribute to quality engineering metrics and reporting.

• Review automation repositories, mentor automation engineers, and align automation architecture with product-team strategies.

Required Skills and Experience

• 7+ years of experience as a QE Automation Engineer or Automation Engineer, with hands-on experience designing, coding, testing, deploying, and maintaining automation solutions.

• Strong proficiency in Java, Selenium, Cucumber BDD, and Serenity or similar automation frameworks.

• Demonstrated experience building, enhancing, or maintaining automation frameworks.

• Hands-on experience with API automation using Rest Assured.

• Strong SQL skills, including query development, test-data creation, and data validation across relational databases.

• Experience testing data platforms, MDM, data pipelines, ETL processes, and Data APIs.

• Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, continuous integration, and in-sprint test automation.

• Experience executing multiple types of testing, including unit, integration, API, smoke, system, and performance testing.

• Knowledge of QA methodologies, software testing lifecycles, test planning, test-data management, and test-management tools.

• Hands-on exposure to at least one AI-assisted development or testing tool, with the ability to explain its practical use, validate its outputs, and adapt testing workflows based on the results.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and contribute to QE strategy, coordination, and quality metric reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with Azure and/or AWS cloud ecosystems.

• Working knowledge of Oracle, Teradata, SQL Server, ETL tools, and data warehouse architectures, or similar technologies.

• Experience mentoring automation engineers and coordinating testing activities across multiple products or portfolios.

• Experience working in Agile delivery environments and supporting quality engineering initiatives across teams.

• Use only AI-assisted tools approved for the engagement.

• Follow applicable security, privacy, and data-handling requirements when using AI tools.

• Validate AI-generated code, test cases, test data, and documentation before incorporating them into deliverables.
