Automation Solutions Architect

Basic Functions

The QA Automation Solutions Architect as part of the Quality Assurance team, is responsible for developing system test automation framework and strategies to support application quality. This role must be able to direct and support test automation efforts of engineers and stakeholders to optimize efficiency and risk mitigation in testing multiple applications and releases

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:

• Identify strategies and approaches to reduce overall manual steps and validations of business processes
• Support the design and lead the development of effective application integration and test data architecture as per organizational and test requirements
• Build and maintain the test automation framework and tests
• Build and maintain API Tests using Postman (or similar tool)
• Design and maintain automation scripts preferably using Selenium to ensure reliable execution
• Support and mentor manual QA testing efforts in conversion to automated tests
• Participate in agile scrum to inject quality into the entire software delivery lifecycle
• Report and publish test results in test tracking tool(s)
• Report, track, and manage any discovered defects to resolution
• Work within established quality standards
• Provide technical mentorship to teammates
• Work with QA, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters to determine priority tests
• Participate in all project management activities including planning, estimating demos, and continuous improvement
• Support and utilize the DevOps delivery CI/CD processes for test automations

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline and at least 5 or more years’ experience in a software development environment. Recognized industry certification in software testing skills or testing tools is desirable.

Experience & Skills

• Minimum of 6 years of software quality assurance experience, including a minimum of 3+ years in automation testing - building and maintaining automation frameworks/suites. with modern software engineering practices (TDD, CI/CD, Agile Development)
• In-depth understanding of Java, SQL, C++, and XML
• 3 years’ experience in test automation preferably using Selenium for UI automation, Postman for API automation and JMeter/Blaze Meter or Load Runner for performance testing
• Experience directing the design, planning and execution of testing and data strategies and tactics to ensure quality at all stages of the system life cycle in TDD, CI/CD, and Agile development.
• Demonstrated ability to implement test and data automation strategies and architecture/frameworks in complex environments
• Proven experience in building automation framework for integrated environments
• Experience crafting robust, readable, and maintainable automated tests
• Broad and in-depth knowledge of quality tools, and methodologies
• Problem solving/analytical thinking
• Good interpersonal skills
