Automation Expert ServiceNow

The core of the role involves the design, implementation and operation of orchestrated workflows and business rules in ServiceNow in accordance with the Network Automation Framework (NAF), particularly for network- and firewall-related change, deployment and lifecycle processes. In parallel, NetBox is being introduced as the ‘source of truth’. NetBox manages the planned and target data, whilst the CMDB in ServiceNow manages the actual data. Technologies such as Ansible, Python, GitLab and various APIs are used as execution and integration components within this orchestration, controlling network and security systems as well as connected platforms such as NetBox, Infoblox, CMDB, DNS, CyberArk, CheckMK, etc.

Resposibilites: 

• Creation and maintenance of workflows in ServiceNow, including the control of automation scripts, APIs, etc. (e.g. system deployment via ZDP, software updates, decommissioning, configuration hardening, checking and modifying firewall rules, system audits, health checks, …)
• Setting up, configuring and managing an orchestration platform in Snow, including status dashboards to assist the technicians (operators) carrying out the tasks
• Extending and customising Ansible playbooks towards “Software-Defined Networks”
• Integrating and controlling CI/CD processes from GitLab to ensure end-to-end, version-controlled and traceable automation.
• Rollout of target configurations and execution of workflows based on the existing change management process; this applies not only technically but also in the CMDB, monitoring systems, DNS, CyberArc, etc.
• Automatic generation of the necessary validation documents for the change
• Documentation in accordance with FI-TS documentation guidelines, training and induction

Required skills:

• English (fluent, both spoken and written); knowledge of German is an advantage
• In-depth knowledge of
  ServiceNowworkflow design with interfaces to various APIs (checkMK, CyberArc, Infoblox, etc.)
• In-depth knowledge of creating and customising business rules in ServiceNow
• In-depth knowledge of Ansible, Python and GitLab
• In-depth knowledge of user-friendly UI design
• Sprint-based, customer-focused and structured approach to work; team player
• Strong communication skills and the ability to assert oneself
• Knowledge of networks and firewalls
