Position Summary
We are seeking an experiencedAutomation Engineer to support and optimize highly automated manufacturing processes within a medical device production environment. The selected candidate will provide technical leadership and hands-on support for automated equipment, PLC systems, robotics, machine vision systems, servo motion controls, and manufacturing software applications. This role will partner closely with Operations, Quality, Validation, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to ensure equipment reliability, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide daily technical support for automated manufacturing equipment and production systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving:
- PLCs (Allen Bradley preferred)
- Robotics
- Servo Motion Control Systems
- Machine Vision Systems
- Automated Assembly Equipment
- PC-Controlled Manufacturing Systems
- Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Support equipment upgrades, process improvements, and automation projects.
- Develop, review, execute, and approve engineering and validation documentation.
- Support software lifecycle management activities for automated systems.
- Participate in commissioning, qualification, and validation activities.
- Assist in the development and execution of FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ, and PQ protocols.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with regulatory and quality requirements.
- Perform technical assessments, risk assessments, and impact assessments for manufacturing changes.
- Generate and maintain:
- User Requirements Specifications (URS)
- Functional Specifications (FS)
- Configuration Specifications
- Requirements Traceability Matrices
- Validation Plans and Reports
- Change Controls
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, reliability, and efficiency.
- Participate in engineering project meetings and provide project status updates, risk identification, and technical recommendations.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. Â
- Preferred in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience supporting automation systems in a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Experience within Medical Devices, Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, or Electronics industries preferred.
