Audio Video (AV) Patching Engineer

About The Job:

• The Audio Video (AV) Patching Engineer is responsible for the software, firmware, and security compliance of all supported Audio Visual (AV) and Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTR) technologies across the managed estate.
• This role ensures devices remain secure, supported, and operational through effective patch management, lifecycle governance, and change control processes.

Essential Job Functions:
Device Patching and Lifecycle Management

• Plan, schedule, and implement firmware and software updates across supported AV technologies.
• Maintain patch compliance across Microsoft Teams Rooms, AV endpoints, control systems, DSPs, displays, cameras, microphones, and room peripherals.
• Validate device functionality before and after software or firmware updates.
• Monitor vendor advisories and identify required security updates.
• Maintain accurate records of device versions, patch levels, and lifecycle status.

Change and Release Management

• Coordinate maintenance windows with operational and customer teams.
• Ensure all updates follow approved change management processes.
• Support rollback and recovery activities where required.
• Minimize operational disruption during maintenance activities.

Compliance and Reporting

• Produce regular patch compliance and device lifecycle reports.
• Identify unsupported, vulnerable, or end-of-life technologies.
• Support audit and governance requirements.

Incident Support

• Assist with troubleshooting issues related to firmware, operating systems, or software releases.
• Participate in root cause analysis for incidents linked to software updates or configuration changes.

Qualifications:
Essential

• Microsoft Teams Rooms administration.
• Windows operating system management.
• AV hardware and peripheral technologies.
• Firmware and software deployment.
• Endpoint management concepts.
• TCP/IP networking fundamentals.
• Change management practices.
• Device lifecycle management.

Desirable

• Microsoft Intune.
• Teams Rooms Pro Management.
• Logitech Sync.
• Crestron XiO Cloud.
• Q-SYS Platform Manager.
• PowerShell scripting.
• Security and vulnerability management.

Experience

• 3–5+ years supporting AV technologies, endpoint management, or device administration environments.
• Shift Timing (in IST): 24/7 (Rotational)
