Software Engineering Managers have not only the technical expertise to take on and provide technical leadership to major projects, but also manage a team of Engineers. You not only optimize your own code but make sure Engineers are able to optimize theirs. As a Software Engineering Manager you manage your project goals, contribute to product strategy and help develop your team. With technical and leadership expertise, you manage engineers across multiple teams and locations, a large product budget and oversee the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple sites internationally.
In this role, you will define how the world adopts Search's next wave of AI products. You will lead the engineering team responsible for driving user growth and scaling engagement across Search’s flagship AI features. You will also shape and build the Search Growth Platform: an intelligent platform that will autonomously optimize user lifecycles across Search.

Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 3 years of experience with full stack development, across back-end such as Java, Python, Golang, or C++ codebases, and front-end experience including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS or equivalent.
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
- 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
- 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
- Experience driving technical initiatives from concept to launch, authoring design documents, and prioritizing roadmaps using a data-driven approach.
- Experience partnering with Product, UX, and adjacent engineering teams to deliver shared goals.
Responsibilities
- Drive growth strategies and deliver on key product goals, including the adoption of new AI features, user engagement metrics, and subscription products.
- Lead the design and delivery of the Search Growth Platform's next-generation AI engine to optimize the end-to-end user lifecycle.
- Manage, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers while guiding their career development.
- Cultivate a culture of engineering excellence to solve complex technical problems.
- Build user-facing features and foundational infrastructure for user engagement with a focus on rapid experimentation.
