Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is seeking an Associate Technical Business Analyst to work with retail clients and project teams to define business requirements and use cases. Working alongside senior analysts and the technical teams assigned to your projects, you will help translate client needs into clear requirements, bridge the gap between clients and development staff, and support features from definition through delivery. This is a growth role: you will build product, analysis, and retail expertise while taking on increasing ownership of your work.

Our organization provides software solutions for some of the world's largest retailers, partnering with brands like Kroger, Amazon, Meijer and Costco to deliver innovative consumer experiences across a wide range of technologies.

As an Associate Technical Business Analyst, you will be part of a cross-functional team responsible for planning, developing, and releasing software solutions to market. You will build and nurture working relationships with product, program management, and supporting groups to help ensure the timely release of solutions that meet demanding customer expectations.

This position requires a solid technical background, familiarity with Agile software development, and an understanding of traditional waterfall methodologies. The role is client facing, and you will develop a deep understanding of the requirements and business drivers behind Toshiba's products and solutions.

Responsibilities

Requirements and Analysis

  • Assist in analyzing client business requirements to help determine the best approach to meeting each need (for example, existing functionality or a new feature), with guidance from senior team members.
  • Analyze and document well-defined requirements and help translate client needs into product-specific or client-specific requirements, with review from senior analysts.
  • Create and maintain requirements documentation that clearly conveys what is changing and why, from both the client and product perspectives.
  • Use approved AI tools to draft, refine, and standardize requirements documentation and user stories, expediting the documentation process. Review and validate all AI-generated content for accuracy and alignment with client needs and system behavior before sharing it and remain accountable for the quality of your work.

Client and Team Engagement

  • Participate in client interviews, workshops, and surveys to understand the "what" and the "why" behind their business needs.
  • Learn the product's value and capabilities and support senior analysts in guiding clients through their decision making.
  • Build strong working relationships with the client and the project team, growing toward being seen as a trusted partner.
  • Identify potential scope changes and raise them promptly with the lead BA or project manager and participate in client scope conversations as your skills develop.

Delivery Support

  • Support the development team during the build phase by answering questions and clarifying requirements.
  • Review test cases and scenarios and perform UAT to confirm solutions meet business requirements.
  • Research client questions on functionality using test systems, internal AI tooling, documentation, or SMEs as needed.

Growth

  • Learn Toshiba systems and develop into a system SME through training, hands-on use of test systems, and time with SMEs and developers.

Travel

  • Up to 25% travel.

Required Skills

  • 2-4 years of experience in a business analyst or similar role (internships and co-ops count)
  • Exposure to software development teams and projects through work, internships, or coursework
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Collaborative, team-oriented approach
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
  • Ability to create clear written documentation
  • Self-driven, with a strong desire to learn
  • Fluent English speaking and writing

Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in business, information systems, computer science, or a related field
  • Exposure to or interest in retail and retail point-of-sale systems
  • Experience using AI tools to support writing, research, or analysis
