We are seeking anAssociate Principalto oversee and assist in leading our State, Local, and Educational (SLED) market sector in New Mexico. This person will play a pivotal role in driving the strategic direction, growth, and operational excellence of the organization. This role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, engage in innovative problem-solving, and contribute to the advancement of the built environment. This role is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico and has a flexible hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Provide oversight and guidance to project teams throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring adherence to quality standards, budgets, and schedules
  • Review project deliverables, technical documentation, and design drawings to ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and best practices
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or challenges, and implement effective mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Conduct periodic project reviews and client feedback sessions to assess performance, identify lessons learned, and drive continuous improvement

Business Development

  • Develop and execute business development strategies to achieve revenue targets and expand the firm's client base
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, architects, and subconsultants
  • Lead client engagement efforts, including proposal development, client presentations, contract negotiations, and project kick-off meetings
  • Identify emerging market trends, client needs, and opportunities for cross-selling or upselling additional services

Strategic Leadership

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement strategic initiatives that align with the firm's vision, mission, and values
  • Provide guidance and direction to department heads and project teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives
  • Lead efforts to identify new market opportunities, expand service offerings, and enhance the firm's competitive position within the industry

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or ArchitecturalĀ Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Professional Engineer License in New Mexico
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management and business development within the MEP industry, with a proven track record of success in leading and delivering complex projects on time and within budget
  • Strong business acumen and demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth, profitability, and client satisfaction
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate market trends, identify opportunities, and develop innovative solutions to meet client needs
  • Deep knowledge of MEP systems and an understanding of the technical challenges associated with engineering
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize competing demands effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, team members, and stakeholders at all levels
