Role summary:
The (USA) Associate Merchant supports category management by facilitating supplier negotiations, managing purchase orders, and resolving supplier-related issues to ensure accurate product setup for stores and online channels. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to execute customer communication programs, optimize search results, and implement merchandising strategies. Utilizing data analysis and forecasting, the Associate Merchant contributes to category financial planning and promotional activities. The position requires strong vendor relationship management and strategic decision-making to enhance customer experience and drive business results within Walmart’s retail environment.
About the team:
The Vitamins & Supplements team is dedicated to making wellness accessible and easy to shop for Walmart customers. Managing a fast-growing business across stores and online, the team focuses on everyday essentials, emerging trends, and innovative brands. They identify new opportunities, build strong supplier partnerships, and collaborate cross-functionally to shape the future of wellness at Walmart. The team leverages skills in vendor relationship management, negotiation, category strategy, supplier management, data analysis, and e-commerce management to deliver value and enhance the customer experience.
What you'll do:

Provide administrative support for supplier negotiations and manage purchase orders within assigned categories.
Assist merchants in resolving supplier issues and facilitate the setup of new suppliers for stores and online channels.
Execute customer communication and education programs in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Monitor category performance through data analysis and support budgeting, forecasting, and sales reporting activities.
Support item setup, pricing recommendations, and modular assortment implementation to optimize product presentation.
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify improvement opportunities and ensure compliance with company policies.

What you'll bring:

Proven experience in vendor relationship management and supplier negotiations within retail or e-commerce environments.
Strong skills in category strategy development and supplier management to support merchandising goals.
Proficiency in data analysis and reporting to track category performance and inform decision-making.
Ability to support item setup, pricing, and modular assortment execution aligned with business objectives.
Effective collaboration and communication skills to work cross-functionally with merchants, planners, and vendors.
Commitment to maintaining compliance with company policies and ethical standards.
Aptitude for leveraging digital tools to enhance merchandising processes and customer experience.

The annual salary range for this position is $70,000.00 - $130,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
