Associate, L&E Litigation - Dallas

MHS is seeking an attorney with at least 2 years of civil litigation experience to join our labor and employment practice representing employers in a wide range of workplace matters. Employment law experience is strongly preferred, but candidates with substantial civil litigation experience who are interested in developing an employment law practice will also be considered. The ideal candidate will have experience handling various aspects of civil litigation, including drafting and responding to discovery, preparing and arguing motions, taking and defending depositions, participating in arbitrations, attending court conferences, leading mediations, and counseling clients on labor and employment matters. Candidates with experience taking day-to-day responsibility for litigation matters are particularly encouraged to apply.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Litigate and defend a diverse range of labor and employment-related claims, including discrimination, harassment, restrictive covenant violations, wage and hour disputes, and agency charges.

• Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.

• Take and defend depositions, and prepare for and participate in mediations, arbitrations, and trials.

• Provide strategic advice and counsel on employment law issues.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school with strong academic credentials.

• Active membership in good standing with the Texas State Bar.

• At least 2 years of civil litigation experience; employment law experience is strongly preferred.

• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
