ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY LIVING

The Associate Director (AD) of Community Living (CL) will report to the Director of Community Living. The AD will ensure the compliance and provision of safe and high-quality care that is representative of Citizen Advocates’ mission.The AD will demonstrate effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders while serving as a member of the CL management team – collaborating on organizational business issues, communicating appropriately, and supporting and driving corporate initiatives. The Associate Director (AD) assists the Director in the oversight of all activities of Community Living and provides servant leadership and direction to direct staff reports. The AD ensures strict compliance with OPWDD, OMH and OASAS policy and procedure. The AD also drives the development and execution of short- and long-term business plans and corresponding budgets through collaboration with leadership and the executive leadership team. The Associate Director will have oversight of current and future Community Living services, as assigned.

 Essential Functions (Job Duties)

  • Continuously identifies and implements ways to maximize efficiency, productivity, resource allocation and increase profitability – recommends and implements cost-effective strategies for the CL department.
  • Executes CL business plans by assigning accountability to appropriate staff and/or providers, monitoring progress, making appropriate adjustments, and finding solutions to obstacles.
  • Evaluates workflow and performance to maximize productivity/efficiency and ensure high quality care and service.
  • Analyzes data reports and acts appropriately on significant trends affecting overall effectiveness of the CL department.
  • Finds opportunities to grow the business through increased client referrals, new or increased services, or other revenue enhancing activities.
  • Drives improvement efforts through effective staff and provider involvement, project management, and communication. Implements timely changes and keeps staff and providers up to date with clear and concise communications.
  • Establishes targeted goals and developmental growth plans for staff; monitors employee performance and conducts effective performance evaluation sessions.
  • Provides business justification for new and replacement positions and strives to hire and retain and highest quality staff.
  • Identifies and successfully completes a professional development course that will enhance duties performed as AD.
  • Ensures excellent customer service levels as measured by people supported, staff, and provider satisfaction surveys.
  • Ensures timely submission of reports, performance reviews, accounts payable documentation and other materials required to support effective department operations.
  • Responds promptly and effectively to client and provider concerns according to policy and procedure.
  • Develops, implements, and documents policies, procedures, and protocols that ensure compliance with all internal policies and external regulations.
  • Ensures strict compliance with OPWDD, OMH and OASAS policy and procedure
  • Participates in inter-departmental meetings and serves as liaison to outside organizations.
  • Participates in a wide variety of related projects and other duties in support of efficient department operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time/Salaried position.

Workweek schedule: Monday through Friday.

Hours of work: 8:00a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

 

Hours and schedules may vary depending on Company need and workload. Employees will be given as much advance notice as possible when such changes occur.

 

 

Travel

           

 Travel will be as needed between different locations to successfully execute job duties. Travel will be up to 50% of job time.

Required Education and Experience
 

 7+ years of healthcare experience

5+ years supervisory experience

A bachelors degree is required.

A masters degree is preferred.
