RESPONSIBILITIES

The Associate Director, Market Access & Reimbursement Strategy Specialty Portfolio (Oncology, Immunology and Neuroscience) is accountable for the achievement of pricing, reimbursement and access for Lilly in-market brands and new products in the specialty portfolio.Â

This is a leadership rol where the incumbent leads, coaches and develops a team of head office-based Market Access Strategy Managers, and oversees activities related to the establishment and achievement of Market Access objectives for Launch brands, in-market brands and new product planning. The incumbent also owns the market access strategy for a key brand and undertakes work as an individual contributor to brand-specific activities.Â

The role reports to the Head of Pricing, Reimbursement and Market Access and partners closely with the Associate Director – Field Patient Access and Associate Director of Pricing to ensure continuous information-sharing and collaboration. As a member of the Market Access Leadership Team, the incumbent helps sets strategic direction for the department and ensures strong collaboration across teams and work streams.

This is a hybrid role – onsite presence at our Toronto office will be 10 days or more per month (or at least 50% of the time), determined in collaboration with your manager and based on business needs.
This role is eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as participation in the Lilly Bonus Program and a car allowance.

Market Access Strategy & Leadership
- Lead a team of head office-based Market Access Managers supporting the specialty portfolio (Oncology, Immunology and Neuroscience), including: goal-setting, performance management, capability building, project prioritization and resource allocation and budget ownership across brands and therapeutic areas;Â
- Develop and coach team members to create a high performance team and encourage career development.
- Provide strategic oversight for the following activities, undertaken by head office-based Market Access Managers across launch brands, in-market brands and new product planning:
- Develop the Market Access Plan and pricing strategy for launch brands, in-market brands and new products, using collaborative, cross-functional mechanisms and collaboration with regional teams  to ensure it is based on deep understanding of customer/stakeholder needs, as well as the needs and realities of the business
- Ensure alignmenet from the affiliate leadership team on the core components of the Market Access Plan, namely: the Market Access objective, underlying assumptions and upsides/downsides; contingency plan; strategic intent and major tacticsÂ
- Develop access solutions for out of pocket market including close collaboration with patient support program team.
- Develop value dossiers for national and regional Health Technology Assessment (HTA) bodies and payers (public and private) including health economic arguments and models and robust budget impact analysis
- Lead new product planning, including early Market Access assessments, pricing and access assumptions, and evidence needs ahead of launch, in partnership with international and cross-functional team
- Lead in-market lifecycle planning for established brands, including new indications, listing renewals and response to changes in the policy environment
- Collaborate with the associate director of pricing and forecasting to develop business cases for approval of list and net prices at the local level and above-countryÂ

Individual Key Brand Ownership
- Own the end-to-end Market Access strategy for an assigned key brand, from the Market Access Plan through HTA submissions, provincial and private payer listings, out of pocket market solution and lifecycle management
- Represent Market Access on the brand team and provide Market Access input into brand planning, forecasting and launch decisions
- Act as the primary Market Access contact for the cross-functional brand team with Pricing, Medical, HEOR, RWE, Marketing and the field-based Patient Access team
- Remain accountable for brand-level Market Access deliverables and timelines alongside people leadership responsibilities

REQUIREMENTS
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher required, ideally in a scientific field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in market access, pricing, reimbursement or related functions in the pharmaceutical industry
- Significant pharmaceutical industry experience
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and develop a team towards excellence
- Proficiency with AI powered tools
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to align cross-functional partners and senior leaders
- Strong bias for action;Â makes timely decisions, prioritizes effectively and moves work forward in ambiguous situations.
- Working knowledge of the Canadian HTA, pCPA, and provincial and private payer landscape

Additional Skills/Preferences
- Bilingual (English and French) is considered an asset
- Advanced degree preferred
- Experience in Oncology, Immunology or Neuroscience, and familiarity with Lilly products, an asset

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$124,500 - $182,600Full-time equivalent employees may also be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
