Job Overview:

We are currently hiring for someone to join our team in St. Charles, MO as an Associate Counselor. In this role you will play a vital role in supporting the assessment, treatment planning, and counseling efforts for clients undergoing mental health and substance use disorder treatment.

Under the supervision of licensed/qualified counselors or therapists, you will assist in conducting screenings, developing treatment plans, facilitating group counseling sessions, and providing individualized support to clients. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support clients throughout their recovery journey by facilitating group counseling, group education, family conferences, and individual counseling sessions focused on recovery, healthy decision-making, and improved problem-solving skills.
  • Participate in client screenings and assessments under the supervision of licensed or qualified counselors or therapists.
  • Collaborate in developing individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and clients’ evolving needs.
  • Contribute to clinical staffing and treatment team meetings by sharing relevant case information and participating in treatment planning discussions.
  • Build positive, professional relationships with clients, referral sources, coworkers, and other members of the treatment team.
  • Respond appropriately to crisis situations, following agency procedures and notifying supervisory staff when necessary.
  • Document services provided accurately and in a timely manner while meeting applicable regulatory standards.
  • Demonstrate commitment to ethical practices and the short- and long-term goals and objectives of the company.

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

  • Hold one of the following licenses: MAADC I or II, CADC, CRADC.

  • Associate’s degree or high school diploma/equivalent required. 

  • A trainee that meets the requirements for registration, supervision, and professional development as set forth by either: The Missouri Credentialing Board, Inc.; OR  the appropriate board of professional registration with the Department of Insurance, Financial Institutions, and Professional Registration 

  • Associate Counselors must be supervised by a Qualified Addiction Professional who has completed MCB Clinical Supervision Training. All counselor functions performed by an Associate Counselor shall be performed pursuant to the supervisor’s control, oversight, guidance, and full professional responsibility.
