About the Team

The Foundations team collaborates with a network of global philanthropic foundations, alongside multilateral aid agencies, aiming to inform, influence, and profoundly impact social and environmental outcomes resulting from their investments in diverse sectors such as education, child development, gender, health, and more. Our primary focus is on catalysing ecosystem transformation by rigorously solving problems, formulating strategic solutions which are logically sound, effective on the ground and ensuring all stakeholders are effectively engaged while their interests are covered.

The Opportunity

As an Associate in the Foundations team, you will be an integral part of a team that designs and builds solutions that best address our clients’ needs and create measurable impact.

In this role, you will be embedded within the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship for twelve months. The following will be your key responsibilities:

Key responsibilities:

Problem Solving

• Understands the problem deeply and asks the right questions in teams discussions.

• Identifies key data and information through primary and secondary research and builds strategic narratives for communicating data and research insights with the key message.

• Entrepreneurial, bringing high bias for execution and client focus; asks relevant stakeholders for help when required.

Delivery Excellence

• Collaborates effectively with internal and external stakeholders (including government stakeholders) and manages relevant resources in order to deliver on one's work.

• Ensures that they plan ahead and work smart to achieve all their deliverables.

• Tracks overall project progress and is able to flag when things are not on track.

• Ensure creation and adoption of high-quality assets, methods, and standards created during delivery.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Establishes a deep rapport with the middle management of the client organization through constant engagement and personal credibility.

• Listens actively to clients and understands both articulated and unarticulated needs.

• Presents own point of view convincingly using relevant information, arguments, and examples.

Project Management

• Plans day to day responsibilities effectively at an individual level.

• Possesses excellent time management and prioritization skills to work on key activities that are directly linked to impact outcomes.

• Proactively monitors and reports any risk in individual/project milestones.

• Maintains thorough documentation of key project knowledge assets.

• Give and receive constructive feedback to the team members in a respectable manner.
  

Skills Required

At Sattva, our goal is realizing the impact on the ground and to drive a collective win by engaging with multiple stakeholders. We are looking for individuals who align with our mission of alleviating poverty in our lifetime and have the following profile:

• 2-4 years of experience in problem-solving and stakeholder management in consulting firms or government bodies.

• Prior embedded Government experience: a placement, secondment, fellowship or strategy-unit role inside a Ministry, a State Government or a Government body. Experience with the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship is highly desirable.

• Demonstrated ability to work with Government officials and navigate inter-ministerial decision-making.

• Exceptional problem-solving and advisory skills, strong presentation and data analytical abilities.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.

• Ability to organize own work and manage own time with minimal supervision.
