At Hollis, we're proud of the reputation we've built for delivering trusted advice across the property lifecycle. As demand for our professional surveying services continues to grow, we're looking for an Associate Building Surveyor to join our established Milton Keynes team, helping to strengthen our dilapidations and technical due diligence offering across the Midlands. Based on existing Hollis Associate and professional surveying role materials.

This is an opportunity to work on a wide variety of high-quality instructions across commercial property, advising investors, occupiers, landlords and developers on some of the region's most interesting assets. You'll join a collaborative team of experienced surveyors and specialists, combining technical expertise with a practical, client-focused approach.

With a strong pipeline of work and support from colleagues across our UK and European offices, you'll have the opportunity to further develop your professional expertise while playing an important role in the continued success of our Midlands Building Surveying team.

The Role

As an Associate, you'll play a key role in delivering professional building surveying services, maintaining strong client relationships and supporting the continued development of our Midlands offering.

Working closely with colleagues across Building Surveying and the wider Hollis business, you'll provide expert advice across a range of commercial property instructions, with a particular focus on dilapidations and technical due diligence.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering dilapidations instructions on behalf of both landlords and tenants.

  • Undertaking technical due diligence surveys and reporting for acquisitions, disposals and portfolio transactions.

  • Advising clients on lease obligations, reinstatement liabilities and wider landlord and tenant matters.

  • Producing high-quality reports and professional advice across a variety of commercial asset types.

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.

  • Supporting the development of new and existing client opportunities alongside senior colleagues.

  • Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver joined-up advice to clients.

  • Mentoring and supporting graduates and junior surveyors in their professional development.

  • Contributing to the growth and success of the wider Building Surveying team across the Midlands.

About You

We're keen to hear from Chartered Building Surveyors who enjoy professional surveying work, take pride in delivering excellent client service and are looking to play an active role within a collaborative and successful team.

You'll ideally have:

  • MRICS qualification.

  • Strong experience in dilapidations and technical due diligence.

  • Experience advising landlords, tenants, investors and occupiers across commercial real estate sectors.

  • Excellent technical, analytical and report-writing skills.

  • Experience developing and maintaining client relationships.

  • The ability to support and mentor junior team members.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • A collaborative and approachable working style.

  • A genuine interest in contributing to the success and development of the wider team.

Our preference is to recruit directly wherever possible. Should this role be approved for support from external recruitment partners, we will contact our PSL agencies accordingly.

Please note that we do not accept unsolicited CVs from agencies. Effective introduction of a candidate will only be accepted if it has been requested to submit CV’s in relation to a specific vacancy. Any speculative submissions will not incur a fee. For any queries, kindly reach out to the appropriate Talent Acquisition team member.
