Tenure faculty (regardless of rank)- persons with the titles of professor, associate professor, assistant professor and instructor who serve on appointments totaling 50% or more service to the university and who are eligible for tenure or who have obtained tenure. Duties and responsibilities are assigned in accordance with the workload guidelines laid out in the pattern of administration of each faculty member’s tenure initiation unit (TIU) and, as appropriate, regional campus; obligations will include research, service and/or teaching or clinical practice.  These faculty will have earned doctorate or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study or possession of equivalent experience.

The Department of Mathematics in the College of Arts and Sciences at The Ohio State University invites applications for an Assistant Teaching Professor position beginning January 1, 2027. The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D. in Mathematics Education and demonstrate excellence in teaching and supporting student success. Primary responsibilities include teaching mathematics courses for future educators, collecting, analyzing, and utilizing student success data to inform instructional practices and program improvement. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the department's mission through excellence in teaching, service, and student support initiatives.

Performance Objectives

• Deliver high-quality instruction  at the undergraduate level
• Analyze student success data and recommend improvements.
• Contribute to curriculum development and assessment activities.

Education and Experience Requirements

Required:

·         PhD in Mathematics Education

·         Experience in teaching and supporting student success

Desired:

·         Curriculum development experience.

·         Evidence of innovative teaching practices.
