Radiology Reading Room Assistant supports the daily operations of the radiologist reading room by handling administrative and communication tasks, including answering phones, managing emails, triaging requests, and maintaining patient records. Key responsibilities include acting as a communication hub between radiologists and other healthcare professionals, assisting with workflow to allow radiologists to focus on clinical functions, and ensuring a smooth and organized reading room environment.
Essential Job Statements
Communication management: Act as a point of contact by answering and triaging phone calls, relaying information, and making outbound calls on behalf of radiologists to referring physicians or departments.Â
Administrative support: Handle administrative duties like preparing paperwork, filing, and data entry. Helps with any duties demeaned necessary by supervisor.Â
Workflow and file management: Manages radiology worklists, documents, and requisitions.Â
Radiologist support: Perform tasks that allow radiologists to focus on their primary clinical duties, such as facilitating requests for changes to orders, retrieving clinical data, and preparing imaging material for multidisciplinary conferences.Â
Patient and clinician interaction: Greet clinicians and handle requests for preliminary findings and verbal consultations.Â
Compliance and organization: Ensure compliance with regulatory and hospital policies. Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient reading room environment.Â

Strong communication, attention to detail, and ability to work in high-pressure, fast-paced environments required.Â

Experience in EPIC and PACS systems.
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:Â
Previous experience with Microsoft Office applications and e-mail/calendaring.Â
