Major/Essential Functions
- Provides inpatient and outpatient general adult neurology clinical services to include epilepsy/clinical neurophysiology services in the assigned neurology outpatient clinic, and provides consultation services in the affiliated hospitals
- Provides direct patient care and consultative service to other medical professionals
- Diagnose and treat adults with neurological conditions, to include interpretation of routine EEGs, ICU and epilepsy video EEG monitoring, intraoperative monitoring, and evoked potentials.  Â
- Supervises resident clinics and participates in the overall teaching program for the teaching and training of residents and medical students, to include the presentation of lectures
- Engages in advancement of scientific knowledge through research and/or scholarship
- Serves the academic community through participation in institutional governance, such as committee work
- Contributes to the community through academically-related public service complementary to the institutional mission
- Ensures compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations and adheres to institutional and departmental policies and proceduresÂ
- Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine’s Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility.
Required Qualifications
- M.D. or D.O. degree
- Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Neurology Residency Program
- Texas Medical License, or be eligible for licensure in the State of Texas
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual (Spanish and English)
- Fellowship training in Epilepsy/Clinical Neurophysiology or a combination from an accredited program in the United States
- Board certified in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
- Regional or emerging national recognition in the area of specialty for associate professor or higher level
- Certification and/or experience in Epilepsy/Clinical Neurophysiology
