ASSISTANT MANAGER

The Assistant Manager at Clark's Nutrition & Natural Food Market plays a key role in supporting the store's commitment to health and wellness and customer satisfaction. This position supports the Store Manager in managing daily operations, overseeing team members, and ensuring the store delivers high-quality natural foods, supplements, and products. The role involves leadership in customer service, inventory management, merchandising, and ensuring a welcoming environment focused on natural health solutions.

FUNDAMENTAL JOB TASKS:
•    Perform all opening and closing duties at both the store and department level. 
•    Accurately handle cash.
•    Aid customers with product knowledge, product location, complaints, suggestions, or any questions that arise.
•    Have a well-rounded knowledge of all departments. 
•    Manage employees by conducting regular check-ins 
•    Promptly respond to assistance pages. 
•    Pay close attention to department needs, stepping in where needed. 
•    Display role model customer service. 
•    Supervise daily operations of the store. 
•    Maximize time spent of the sales floor. (75% of scheduled hours)
•    Ensure store environment is safe and clean for shoppers and staff. 
•    Oversee equipment maintenance. Report any issues. 
•    Assist Store Manager in department development to help improve department efficiencies.
 

Qualifications

•    Leadership and team building skills with the ability to supervise employees, delegate tasks, and address performance issues.
•    Communication skills necessary to work in a team driven environment. Ability to effectively communicate with staff, managers, and customers. 
•    Previous experience as a Department Manager or higher preferred.
•    Organization skills. 
•    Computer literacy. Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel. 
•    Willingness to work to the needs of the store.
