Assistant Kitchen Manager (Southlake)

About the role

TheCafe Assistant Kitchen Manager (AKM) supports the Cafe Kitchen Manager in leading daily kitchen operations and maintaining operational excellence across all areas of the kitchen. 

The Café Assistant Kitchen Manager is responsible for driving exceptional standards in food preparation and presentation as established by the Director of Culinary. This role requires at least 45 hours per work week in café. Salary commensurate with experience. 

What you'll do

•  Serve as a working leader responsible for supporting food quality, food safety, production planning, team development, and operational execution.
• Lead by example, consistently uphold company standards, and assume responsibility for overseeing kitchen operations during Cafe Kitchen Manager absences. 

• Participates in special events including off site catering and functions 

• Coachable: receives and implements feedback quickly 

• Approachable: forges strong interpersonal connections with folks of all skill levels 

• Impactful: communicates and conveys concepts in a way the individual will understand and respond with engagement.  

• Qualifications                                                                                                    Restaurant kitchen operations experience required  
• • Food and Beverage Manager certification 
• • Reliable transportation, able to travel to all locations 
• • Able to work nights and weekends 
• • Strong team building skills, clear communication 
• • Great organizational skills, problem solving ability, and intuitive resourcefulness 
• • High initiative and self-management skills, willing to take direction 
• • Ability to stand for extended periods of time, ~8 hours each workday
