PURPOSE:
Pfeiffer University invites applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor of Business with a focus in economics and finance. This position offers the opportunity to join a collaborative academic community and help prepare students for meaningful careers through teaching, advising, and mentoring. Teaching responsibilities are primarily in the undergraduate business program and may include economics, finance, and other business courses appropriate to the faculty member’s expertise, delivered through in-person and online modalities. When appropriately credentialed and qualified, and based on workload, the faculty member may also teach in graduate business programs and contribute to the continued development of Pfeiffer’s business offerings.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- *Teach up to 26 instructional units (IUs) during the academic year, primarily in undergraduate economics, finance, and related business courses consistent with academic credentials and departmental needs.
- *Develop and deliver course content, learning activities, and assessments that support established learning outcomes, connect disciplinary concepts to practical applications, and provide students with timely, constructive feedback.
- *Advise and mentor undergraduate business students through regular meetings and ongoing communication to support academic planning, degree progress, and career preparation.
- *Collaborate with the Department Chair, program coordinator, and business faculty on course scheduling, curriculum development, program assessment, and continuous improvement, including work supporting ACBSP accreditation.
- *Teach undergraduate business courses across modalities as assigned, using appropriate instructional technologies and practices that support student engagement and achievement.
- Participate in departmental and University service, program-related campus activities, and community outreach. Contribute to grant development and related initiatives as appropriate.
- Perform other reasonably related duties consistent with the faculty appointment.

The position is based at the Misenheimer campus and involves regular in-person teaching, student advising, and collaboration with Business Department faculty. Teaching assignments may also include online undergraduate courses and graduate business courses, depending on qualifications and departmental needs.
Work occurs in classroom, office, and online instructional settings. Responsibilities follow the academic calendar, with recurring deadlines for course preparation, grading, advising, and assessment. The faculty member is expected to respond constructively to changes in course assignments, instructional technology, curriculum, and student needs.

Qualifications
REQUIRED:
- Master’s degree in economics, finance, or a related field from an institutionally accredited institution.
- Academic preparation appropriate to teaching undergraduate economics and finance courses.
- Evidence of successful teaching in higher education.
- Demonstrated communication skills and a commitment to student learning, advising, and mentoring.
- Familiarity with instructional technology and learning management systems.

- Earned doctorate in economics, finance, or a related field from an institutionally accredited institution.
- Experience teaching online courses.
