Role Description

Form Energy is hiring an experienced professional to own the development and execution of Form’s global supply chain strategy for an array of critical battery raw materials used in Form’s pioneering iron-air battery systems. This role reports to the Manager, Global Supply Management (“GSM”) for Active Battery Materials. As part of the “Actives” team, you will establish and execute on Form’s commercial-scale sourcing strategy, owning key categories like specialty carbons & catalysts, adhesives & epoxies, thermoplastic tapes & resins, and other raw materials. You will deliver shrewd insights based on a deep understanding of upstream manufacturing processes, market trends, and Form’s requirements, ensuring delivery of quality materials that meet Form’s bold performance, cost, and timeline needs.

The successful candidate will rely on their combination of business acumen, technical depth, innate curiosity, and experience across raw materials categories to bring strategic approaches and oversight to the sourcing of these critical components, while developing and maintaining positive, productive relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners alike. What you'll do:

  • Own thebattery raw materials and resinscategory at Form (e.g., specialty carbons, binders, tapes, resins, and adhesives), including commercial relationships and contracts within our supply base and value chain

  • Monitor current categorymarket conditions, evaluating capacities and competitive landscapes, technology roadmaps and supply challenges & opportunities

  • Collaborateclosely with internal stakeholders across Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Supplier Industrialization, Manufacturing, and Leadership to define and drive execution of Form’s battery materials sourcing strategy

  • Negotiate and deliver favorablecommercial termsthat optimize costs, lead times, and risk

  • Ensure Form is working withbest-in-class suppliersandmitigating risksby managing the end-to-end sourcing process from supplier identification through RFP, business award, and continuous improvement

  • Secure best-in-classpricingthrough detailed price analysis and negotiations, continual cost reductions, cost avoidance, and logistics optimization

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, or similar discipline

  • 5+ years of relevant category experiencein battery raw materials, carbons, or resins, including relevant manufacturing methods and market/pricing dynamics

  • 5+ years ofsourcing experienceincluding supplier management, running RFX’s, and driving continuous improvement, in a fluid, fast-paced, manufacturing environment

  • Stronganalytical skills, with a demonstrated ability to generate bottom-up “should-cost” models based on an understanding of manufacturing processes; strong with spreadsheets

  • Solidunderstanding of commercial terms, contract structures, and IP concepts

  • Excellentcommunication and organizational skills, ability to ruthlessly prioritize across multiple tasks and projects

  • Ability to work in the US and travel globally as necessary, up to 30%
