The Role

We’re building thecore systems that power Arta’s wealth platform — including trading infrastructure, ledgering, billing, and real-time data pipelines.

This role focuses onhigh-reliability financial systems, where correctness, consistency, and latency are critical.

You’ll work on systems such as:

• Trading and order workflows

• Ledger and portfolio accounting systems

• Market data and analytics pipelines

You may also interface with AI-powered systems, but your primary focus isbuilding the financial and data backbone that everything else depends on.

If you enjoy building systems where correctness is non-negotiable and failure has real consequences, this role will suit you well.

What You Will Do

• Design and buildcore financial systems (trading, ledger, billing)

• Develop systems fortransaction processing, reconciliation, and portfolio state management

• Build and scalereal-time and batch data pipelines

• Architect APIs and backend services for internal and external use

• Ensure system reliability, observability, and fault tolerance

• Contribute to distributed systems design (event-driven systems, microservices, streaming)

• Partner with ML teams to integrate models into production systems (as needed, not core focus)
  

Who You Are

• 5+ years backend or systems engineer with experience indistributed systems

• Experience in at least one:

  • Financial systems (trading, ledger, payments)

  • Data infrastructure

  • Scalable backend platforms

• Strong understanding ofsystem design, consistency, and reliability

• Solid programming skills (Python or similar)

• Experience with modern infra (Kafka, Kubernetes, cloud, etc.)

• Location: Bay Area preferred (3 days/week in our Mountain View office). We're flexible for exceptional remote candidates on the West Coast.
  

Strong Plus

• Experience withfinancial primitives (ledger, order management, reconciliation)

• Experience inlow-latency or high-throughput systems

• Exposure to data platforms or streaming systems

• Some familiarity with ML systems (nice-to-have, not required)

Note: We require at least one in-person interview before making our offer decision. For remotely located candidates, we may request you to visit the Mountain View HQ to meet the team. Depending on your location, you will meet our team member based in NY/New Jersey.

Arta's Compensation Philosophy

We determine your salary based on factors including your interview performance, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Our offers are based on salary bands that are updated periodically using market benchmarks and consider geographic location as well (for example, higher cost regions like San Francisco or New York). If you are presented with an offer, we will review the base salary, benefits, number of options, notional option value and strike price. We would like to know if you accept our offer within 7 days.

Please keep in mind that the equity portion of your offer is not included in these numbers and represents a significant part of your total compensation.
