Purpose Statement

Responsible for performing functions associated with all manufacturing operations, includingsupporting of manufacturing lines (equipment and personnel), root causing nonconforming product, and monitoring line performancerelative to goals. Determines and mayassist in developing methods and procedures to control ormodify the manufacturing process. Works with engineers in conducting experiments.

Key Responsibilities

1. Observes and complies with all safety rules and regulations.  This includesQuality Systems Registrars (QSR)andInternational Organisation for Standardisation (ISO)Standards. 

2. Identifies and implements corrective actions for manufacturing related issues. 

3. Performs equipment setup and corrective,preventive and calibrationmaintenance as necessary. 

4. Installs andvalidatesequipment and processes in the production area to improve yield and/or reduce cycle time following the established validation procedure. 

5. Evaluates operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment. May develop or revise documents and procedures. 

6. Certifies manufacturing associates in the production processes. 

7.Evaluates and orders necessary equipment,tools and fixtures. 

Education & Job Skills

1. National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) level 6 qualification in a relevant discipline. Relevant work experienceadvantageous but not essential or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. 

2. Applies limited knowledge of basic technical concepts and practices and a basic understanding of productor systems fundamentals. Utilises basic knowledge of numerical and/or statistical data and computer software programs to resolve routine problems. Will perform this job in a quality system environment. Failure to adequately perform tasks can result in noncompliance withgovernmental regulations. 

3. Performs routine technical tasks working from detailed written or verbal instructions. Performs routine set-up, testing, repair, inspection, and/or maintenance of certain area-specific equipment, materials, systems, and/orproduct. Assignments require limited judgment in troubleshooting proven processes.  

4. Completes daily work to meet establishedschedule with guidance from supervisor onprioritisation of tasks. 

5. Solves problemsof limited scope and complexity requiring basic interpretation of well-defined procedures and practices.Maintains confidentiality in handling sensitive information or documents. 

6.Close supervision. Receives detailedinstruction on all assignments.
