Shift pattern: Weekend and Weekday working – 37.5 Hour Contract

About the role
As an Area Manager coveringLondon City & the East End, you will lead a diverse portfolio of approximately19 stores, using your commercial and leadership expertise to drive outstanding performance across both retail and pharmacy.
Leading a team of Store Managers across a varied and dynamic area, you will be responsible for delivering the company plan by creating high-performing stores that consistently exceed customer expectations, achieve commercial targets and operate to the highest standards. This is a fast-paced and strategically important area, encompassing a mix of store formats, customer demographics and trading environments, requiring a leader who can adapt, influence and deliver results through others.
Working closely with your Store Managers and wider leadership teams, you will create a culture of accountability, engagement and operational excellence. You will use data, insight and local market knowledge to identify opportunities, improve performance and ensure every store is positioned for success.
As the leader of your area, you will play a critical role in developing talent, building capability and coaching future leaders. Through your support and guidance, you will enable your teams to deliver exceptional customer and patient care, ensuring Boots remains at the heart of the communities we serve.
Reporting to the Director of Stores and working collaboratively with regional colleagues, Support Office teams and Store Leaders, you will translate strategy into action and drive sustainable growth across your area.
Regular travel across London City and the East End will be required to maintain a visible presence and provide ongoing support to your store teams.
What you'll need to have
These are the essential skills and experience needed to succeed in this role:
- Significant experience leading Store Managers within a large-scale retail environment.
- Proven experience delivering results across a multi-site operation.
- Strong commercial awareness with a track record of driving sales, profitability and operational performance.
- Experience developing high-performing teams and coaching leaders to achieve their full potential.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- The ability to analyse performance data and translate insight into action.
- A full UK driving licence.

- An understanding of community pharmacy operations and healthcare retail.
