OVERVIEW:Â
The Area Group Fitness Manager is responsible for recruiting, developing, and leading Group Fitness instructors across 3-4 CLUB4 Fitness locations. This role combines hands-on teaching responsibilities with administrative leadership to ensure exceptional programming, instructor development, and overall studio performance.

The ideal candidate is a passionate fitness professional with strong leadership skills, proven experience in group fitness instruction, and the ability to build high-performing instructor teams. This position offers a flexible full-time schedule divided between teaching classes and completing administrative responsibilities that support multiple clubs.

Instructor Recruitment & Development
- Recruit, interview, audition, and onboard Group Fitness instructors.
- Build and maintain a strong instructor pipeline for all assigned clubs.
- Train, mentor, and develop instructors to deliver exceptional member experiences.
- Conduct regular coaching, evaluations, and performance development discussions.
- Ensure instructors meet company standards for class delivery, professionalism, and member engagement.
- Support the implementation and growth of company programming initiatives.
Operations & Administration
- Create and maintain Group Fitness schedules across assigned clubs.
- Ensure class schedules align with member demand and club goals.
- Review and approve payroll-related items for instructors.
- Maintain accurate instructor records, certifications, and compliance documentation.
- Coordinate instructor substitutions and schedule coverage as needed.
- Monitor class performance and attendance trends.
- Participate in meetings, reporting, and other administrative functions related to studio operations.
Â
Club Support & Leadership
- Serve as the primary Group Fitness leader for assigned clubs.
- Partner with club leadership to drive participation and member engagement.
- Foster a positive culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Support club events, launches, workshops, and special programming initiatives.
Teaching Responsibilities
- Regularly teach Group Fitness classes as part of weekly responsibilities.
- Demonstrate high-quality coaching, energy, and member engagement.
- Lead by example through professional conduct and strong class execution.
- Saturday teaching availability is required.
Continuing Education
- Maintain current industry knowledge and best practices.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and company training programs.
- Pursue and maintain Les Mills certifications as required to support business needs.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:Â
The position reports directly to Regional Group Fitness Manager under the VP – Studio Fitness.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1) Knowledge, skills & abilities:
- Minimum of three (3) current Group Fitness certifications from recognized fitness organizations or modalities.
- Previous experience teaching Group Fitness classes.
- Previous leadership, management, or instructor mentoring experience preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple club locations and priorities simultaneously.
- Comfortable with scheduling systems, payroll processes, and administrative responsibilities.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between assigned clubs.
2)Â Minimum certifications/education/experience level:
- Three (3) years Supervisor or Manager experience. Preferably in the fitness or dance industry, or in management of a professional performance organization.
- Must hold a current national group exercise certification & have taught for at least 3 years
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required; 2- or 4-yr degree or four years of supervisory experience is preferred
- Must be CPR/AED certified
- Must hold at least two of the following certifications:
- Group Fitness Instructor certification
- Les Mills Certified
- Indoor cycling certification
