We are looking for someone with a passion for mechanics who also loves bringing out the best in others!
Our technical department is now seeking a certified mechanic to fill an exciting new role as the second-in-command (Deputy) to our Technical Manager. Together, you will lead and support a highly skilled team of about 7 employees. As you can probably tell, this isn’t your typical mechanic job... That’s because we’re not your typical workplace!
What does a workday look like?
In this role, you get the best of both worlds: You will be a key figure in the daily operations and team leadership, while still keeping your safety boots on and turning wrenches with the rest of the crew. You will act as the Technical Manager’s right hand, help distribute tasks, and ensure the team works safely and efficiently.
Just like the rest of the team, you will be out in the park, preparing our grounds for new shows for our guests every day during the high season. The hands-on job involves inspecting, troubleshooting, and maintaining carousels and equipment. This includes gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, conveyor belts with associated rollers and motors, and small gas engines.
It’s important that you enjoy being active because there are long distances to cover, and some heavy lifting is required. Occasionally, evening and weekend work may also be necessary.
Qualifications we’re looking for:
You hold a formal trade certificate or equivalent certified competence in mechanics (e.g., agriculture mechanic, industrial mechanic, etc.).
You are a natural team player with strong collaborative skills, and preferably have experience with, or a strong desire to take on, leadership responsibilities and guide others.
You have solid experience troubleshooting mechanical issues and understand exactly why things need to be done correctly to ensure the safety of our guests (no previous carousel experience needed!).
You are structured and organized. Since you will be overseeing an entire park and helping run a team, we expect you to play a major role in keeping our workspaces and logistics under control.
You must be proficient in Norwegian and English, and to communicate with the team you should know Polish as well.
Why apply to work with us? Are you tired of every day feeling the same and looking for more responsibility? Do you miss physical activity in your work? Or maybe you just love carousels? We are a serious and fun workplace and hope you’ll help make our days – and the team's days – even better!
We offer competitive pay, a dynamic workday with exciting challenges, and the opportunity to create magic for our guests every single day.
Are you the leader and mechanic we are looking for? Send us your application today!
