What You’ll Get to Do
TheClass A Driver safely transports and unloads glass and metal products to OBE customers across local and overnight routes. This role interacts daily with customers, ensures load securement, and supports multiple route types—including Chicago and Iowa overnights—while reporting directly to the Fleet Manager.
This position is ideal for asafety‑focused, self‑motivated CDL A professional who is flexible with start times and comfortable with sleeper‑cab overnight work. As a key member of the Fleet Department, this is an opportunity to build a long-term career with an industry leader.
Job Responsibilities Include:
Day‑to‑day activities includehandling, inspecting, and unloading glass and/or metal products, verifying load securement, performingdaily pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections, and completing multiple deliveries.
Unloading may includeloose glass, boxed glass, and racked glass, as well as operatingcrane systems mounted on trailers.
Drivers ensure properload securement, adding straps as needed and confirming safe configuration before departure.
Regular and predictable attendance, safe task performance, and strict adherence toDOT regulations, OBE safety policies, andCritical Safety Rules are essential functions of the role.
Customer interaction is frequent; drivers help resolve delivery issues and maintain strong customer relationships.
What We Are Looking For
Must meetall DOT requirements, including an unexpired Medical Examiner’s Certificate.
Flexibility withstart times
Ability to read and interpretglass measurements, delivery schedules, and effectively use a tape measure.
Must be able toread, write, and speak English.
Strongcustomer service skills and professional communication.
Ability to safely unload product usingcrane systems and within the75‑lb lifting limit.
