Application Administrator role responsible for keeping business-critical applications available, secure, stable, and high-performing.
Core Responsibilities
- Provide Level 2 and Level 3 production support and participate in on-call coverage.
- Monitor application health, availability, performance, and service-level objectives.
- Troubleshoot application, infrastructure, database, network, and integration issues.
- Perform root-cause analysis and implement permanent corrective and preventive actions.
- Improve performance, scalability, resilience, capacity planning, and disaster recovery readiness.
- Build monitoring dashboards, actionable alerts, operational runbooks, and automation or self-healing solutions.
- Maintain security controls, remediate vulnerabilities, and support regulatory and audit compliance.
- Collaborate with development, infrastructure, database, networking, cybersecurity, vendors, and business teams.
- Support upgrades, modernization, cloud initiatives, and continuous operational improvement.
Required Background
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent experience.
- Enterprise production application support experience, particularly with high-availability systems.
- Knowledge of Oracle connectivity, Windows Server, IIS, networking, distributed systems, and microservices.
- Scripting experience with PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with Ansible, Terraform, Harness, Active Directory, LDAP, SSO, and monitoring platforms such as Splunk, Dynatrace, and ExtraHop.
- Working knowledge of AI, large language models, and AI-enabled operational tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in financial services or another regulated environment.
- Cloud, hybrid architecture, containers, orchestration, ITIL, automation, and broader database knowledge.
- Relevant ITIL, Client, networking, security, or cloud certifications.
Key Competencies
The role requires strong analytical troubleshooting, communication, documentation, collaboration, organization, and the ability to work effectively under production pressure.
Overall Purpose
The position protects business continuity and customer service by reducing operational risk, preventing recurring incidents, strengthening application resilience, and improving support efficiency
