We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team responsible for policy-driven compliance experiences, customer audit validation capabilities, and sovereign landing zone experiences that help customers establish trust through verification rather than assertions.
In this role, you will own engineering investments spanning Sovereign Cloud Platform (SCP) policy content, audit evidence and validation workflows, and foundational landing zone experiences for greenfield sovereign cloud deployments. You will work closely with engineering, compliance, security, operations, and program management partners to translate regulatory, operational, and customer assurance requirements into scalable platform capabilities.
You will lead a high-performing team focused on enabling customers, auditors, and internal stakeholders to validate operational controls, consume trustworthy compliance evidence, and accelerate sovereign workload adoption while maintaining the highest standards of security, compliance, and operational excellence.
This is a highly strategic and cross-functional leadership role requiring strong technical depth, customer empathy, execution excellence, and the ability to influence across organizations.ย
Responsibilities
Engineering Leadership
- Lead and grow a team of software engineers responsible for SCP policy and compliance-focused platform experiences.
- Define technical strategy, architecture direction, and execution plans aligned with sovereign cloud business priorities.
- Foster a culture of engineering excellence, accountability, operational rigor, and continuous improvement.
- Drive engineering best practices across design reviews, code quality, reliability, security, and observability.
Policy & Compliance Experiences
- Own the engineering roadmap for SCP policy content and policy-driven customer experiences.
- Partner with compliance, legal, security, and governance stakeholders to translate regulatory requirements into platform capabilities.
- Enable scalable policy lifecycle management, validation, reporting, and customer-facing compliance experiences.
- Ensure policy content remains accurate, actionable, and aligned with sovereign cloud operational requirements.
Trust Through Verification
- Lead development of capabilities that enable customers and auditors to independently validate operational controls and compliance assertions.
- Partner with operational teams and systems such as PTL and related operational evidence sources to integrate audit-relevant information into customer experiences.
- Drive solutions that surface operational evidence, control status, compliance posture, and audit artifacts in a secure and consumable manner.Establish engineering patterns that support audit readiness, traceability, and transparency.
- Build and enhance services that collect, correlate, and present operations-related audit information.
- Work cross-functionally with compliance, risk, audit, and engineering organizations to streamline customer audit engagements.
- Develop scalable mechanisms for evidence collection, validation, retention, and reporting.
- Improve automation and reduce manual effort associated with customer audits and compliance assessments.
Operational Excellence
- Drive service reliability, performance, availability, and security objectives.
- Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and long-term engineering improvements.
- Establish measurable success metrics and use data to guide engineering investments.
- Ensure services meet the operational expectations of highly regulated sovereign environments.
Cross-Organization Leadership
- Collaborate closely with Product Management, Compliance, Security, Risk, Operations, Customer Success, and executive stakeholders.
- Communicate technical strategy, risks, and progress to senior leadership.
- Influence roadmap decisions across multiple engineering organizations.
- Represent the team in customer, audit, and compliance discussions as needed.
Qualifications
'- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related technical field AND 10+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years' experience leading/managing a high-performance engineering team.
- Experience delivering cloud platform, security, compliance, governance, or enterprise services at scale.
- Experience building customer-facing platforms or services that integrate data from multiple operational systems.
- Strong knowledge of software engineering fundamentals, distributed systems, service architecture, and cloud-native technologies.
- Experience driving technical execution across multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to balance customer needs, compliance requirements, and engineering excellence.
'- Experience working in sovereign cloud, government cloud, regulated industries, or highly compliant environments.Familiarity with compliance frameworks and audit programs such as ISO 27001, SOC, FedRAMP, NIST, CJIS, GDPR, or equivalent regulatory standards.
- Experience building governance, policy, compliance, risk, or audit management systems.
- Experience with evidence automation, control validation, compliance reporting, or assurance platforms.
- Knowledge of cloud landing zone architectures and enterprise cloud adoption frameworks.
- Experience driving cross-organizational platform initiatives that span engineering, compliance, and operations.
- Understanding of operational control frameworks and trust/assurance models.
- Experience working directly with auditors, regulators, or compliance organizations.ย
