Applications Development Sr Programmer Analyst

Summary:

• Location: Toronto, Canada
• This role is for an existing vacancy.

Responsibilities:

• Work with Applications Development professionals to accomplish established goals and conduct personnel duties for the team.
• Oversee process for technical issue escalation and prioritize technical issue resolution.
• Leverage skills across Applications Development area to provide technical oversight across systems and applications.
• Resolve issues using in-depth knowledge of concepts and procedures within applications development.
• Utilize in-depth specialty knowledge of applications development to analyze complex problems/issues.
• Contribute to planning, budget management, formulation of procedures, and resource planning.
• Design and develop web-based applications, cloud services in Angular/Java/Spring/OpenShift stack.
• Provide leadership in research, design and implementing improvements to platform technology solutions.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in leading and implementing successful projects.
• Ability to take ownership and make technical decisions on software development projects.
• Experience with dependency management, change management, continuous integration testing tools, and audit/compliance requirements.
• Extensive knowledge of software engineering and object-oriented design.
• Proficient in industry standard best practices such as Design Patterns, Coding Standards, Coding modularity, Prototypes etc.
• Experience working with SOA & Micro-services utilizing REST.
• Experienced in RDBMS and SQL/PLSQL.
• Experienced in writing tests using frameworks JUnit, Mockito, Cucumber, RestAssured.
• Understanding of the SDLC lifecycle for Agile & Waterfall methodologies.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Proven background in developing large distributed systems to address complex business problems.
• Rich experience and strong ability in both backend and front-end development, proficiency in programming languages like Java, React, or Angular.
• Keen to produce well-crafted software living up to highest quality standards.

• Ability to work independently with ownership to estimation and timeline.

• Experience with Kafka.
• Experience in debugging, tuning, and optimizing UI components.
