Application Programmer

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Full Stack Python Developer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Pennington, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

This position is for a developer within a Global Markets application development team. The ideal candidate will be a full stack developer with at least three years of experience developing solutions using Python, REST-based web services, and relational or NoSQL databases. The role requires close collaboration with development, business analysis, program management, quality assurance, and DevOps teams throughout the software delivery lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and support application enhancements and new functionality
• Own JIRA stories from requirement clarification through implementation, testing support, deployment, and post-deployment validation
• Develop and maintain REST-based services, APIs, and user-facing application components
• Support UAT activities and ensure smooth transition of solutions into production
• Participate in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and remediation of production and non-production issues
• Assist with regulatory, risk, and business-driven initiatives across the platform
• Perform ad hoc analysis and investigations to support business partners, project teams, and application stakeholders
• Contribute to the ongoing improvement of platform architecture, development practices, operational stability, and engineering efficiency

Requirements:

• Strong Python development experience
• Experience with object-oriented software development and/or NoSQL document databases
• Experience building web service components, including REST APIs, JSON-based integrations, and modern web application technologies such as Node.js or React.js
• Familiarity with software development tools including JIRA, Git-based source control, and Visual Studio Code or similar IDEs

Desired skills:

• Prior experience with front office platforms
• Experience supporting front office, trading, risk, collateral, or regulatory technology applications
• Strong problem-solving skills, sense of ownership, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams
• Experience working with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.)
• Familiarity with cloud-native and distributed application architectures
• Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools and workflows (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Amazon Q, or similar) throughout the software development lifecycle
• Exposure to modern DevOps, CI/CD, and automated testing practices

Pay range:$58.26 - $66.26 per hour
