Role Summary

We are seeking anApplication Architect to lead the design and governance ofinpatient virtual care and video visit platforms.

This role defines the architectural backbone of telehealth ecosystems—ensuring solutions aresecure, scalable, interoperable, and aligned with clinical workflows across hospitals.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture Strategy & Roadmap

• Define target-state architecture forinpatient video visit platforms
• Build multi-year roadmap aligned withdigital health strategy
• Establish architecture standards and reference models

Solution Design & Integration

• Design integrations with:
  • EHR systems (Epic preferred)
  • Identity & access management (IAM)
  • Scheduling & patient workflow systems
  • Patient portals & engagement platforms
• Define interoperability usingHL7, FHIR APIs, event-driven architectures
• Ensure seamless clinician and patient experiences

Vendor Architecture Governance

• Evaluate vendor platforms for scalability, security, and interoperability
• Define integration standards fortelehealth SaaS solutions
• Lead architecture reviews and vendor selection processes

Security, Privacy & Compliance

• Ensure compliance withHIPAA, HITECH, NIST frameworks
• Define secure data flows, encryption, and PHI protection
• Partner with cybersecurity teams on risk mitigation

Device & Edge Architecture

• Define standards forbedside devices, tablets, carts, AV systems
• Ensure secure connectivity, device management, and network segmentation
• Support clinical usability and infection control standards

Cloud & Infrastructure Alignment

• Guide architecture acrosson-prem and cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP)
• Definehigh availability, DR, and resilience strategies
• Promote automation and infrastructure-as-code practices

Governance & Collaboration

• Lead architecture review boards and enforce standards
• Maintain architecture documentation (logical, physical, integration diagrams)
• Partner with clinical, IT, and product stakeholders

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's + 9 years OR Master's + 7 years of relevant experience
• 8+ years in Healthcare IT with3+ years in Architecture roles
• Active Epic Certification (Mandatory)
• Experience designingvendor-supported SaaS architectures
• Strong knowledge ofHL7, FHIR, API integrations
• Expertise inIAM, interoperability, and system integration
• Deep understanding ofHIPAA and healthcare security

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience withtelehealth / inpatient virtual care platforms
• Familiarity withEpic / Oracle Health (Cerner)
• Cloud certifications (AWS / Azure / GCP / TOGAF)
• Experience withclinical IoT / device ecosystems

Language Requirement

• English (Read, Write, Speak)
