Application Architect II

Location: Toronto, ON

Onsite Flexibility: Hybrid — 2 days on-site, 3 days work from home

Contract Details

  • Position Type: Contract
  • Contract Duration: 1 year (with possibility of extension based on business needs and performance; conversion to permanent also possible based on business needs)
  • Pay Rate: C$58.00–C$70.00 / Hour (CAD)
  • Shift / Schedule: Monday–Friday, core business hours, 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day
  • Travel Requirements: Not required

Job Summary

This is anApplication Architect II role providing architecture support for TD contact centers (Easyline, TD Wealth, etc.), including migration design and AI support. The position is project-based, supporting a team of 9 people, and involves an average of 4 hours per day in meetings with both internal and external stakeholders. The contractor will not have access to any customer data. TD offers a great work culture with opportunities to learn industry-standard platforms such asAmazon Connect and to work with AI technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide architecture support for TD contact centers (Easyline, TD Wealth, etc.)
  • Support migration design and AI-related initiatives
  • Define solution sets from requirements
  • Present architectural solutions and recommendations to large groups (in person or virtually, up to 50 people)
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on a daily basis
  • Participate in TD onboarding, AML training, and knowledge transfer activities
  • Deliver quality work within defined timelines; performance measured by deliverables, timelines, and quality of work

Required Skills

  • 2 years of experience as an Architect within IT, OR 4 years of prior Lead Developer experience
  • Experience defining solution sets from requirements
  • StrongMS Office experience (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio)
  • Experience presenting to large groups of people in person or virtually (up to 50 people)
  • Jira and Confluence experience
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong interpersonal and time management skills
  • Strong sense of urgency and adaptability to change
  • Team player
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the business

Preferred Skills

  • Agile experience
  • Contact centre experience (IVR flows, desktop solutions, telecom, etc.)
  • Experience with Agentic AI solutions
  • Amazon Solution Architect certification
  • Experience within a highly regulated environment — banking, financial institution, or medical

Education Requirements

  • Degree or diploma required
  • Amazon contact centre certification (Amazon Solution Architecture or associated with Amazon Connect) preferred

Required Experience

  • 2 years of experience as an Architect within IT, OR 4 years of prior Lead Developer experience
  • Preferred/ideal candidate background: extensive experience within the contact centre space (desktop applications, workforce applications, Amazon Connect) and experience working within a highly regulated environment (banking, financial institution, or medical)

  • Interview process: 2 steps — virtual and in-person, 1 hour, 1-on-1 and panel format
