| Description: Below is the JD API Automation JD API SDET (API Test Automation Engineer) | 5-10 Years Experience Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) with 5-10 years of experience in API testing and automation. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable API automation frameworks, validating RESTful services, and integrating test automation into CI/CD pipelines. The candidate should possess strong programming skills and a solid understanding of software testing principles, API architecture, and backend systems. Key Responsibilities * Develop, maintain, and execute automated API test scripts for functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing. * Design and enhance reusable API automation frameworks using C#/.NET. * Validate REST APIs covering GET, POST, PUT, PATCH, and DELETE operations. * Perform request/response validation, schema validation, and API contract testing. * Implement authentication mechanisms such as OAuth 2.0, JWT, and API Keys. * Validate backend data using SQL queries and database verification techniques. * Analyze test results, debug defects, and collaborate with development teams to resolve issues. * Integrate automated test suites with Azure DevOps/Jenkins CI/CD pipelines. * Participate in code reviews and contribute to framework improvements and automation best practices. * Create and maintain automation reports, logs, and test documentation. * Work in Agile/Scrum teams and actively participate in sprint ceremonies. Required Skills * 5-10 years of QA/Test Automation experience with significant exposure to API testing. * Strong programming experience in Java and/or C# and .NET. * Expertise in API Automation Frameworks using Karate, RestAssured, SpecFlow, MSTest, NUnit, or xUnit. * Hands-on experience with REST APIs and tools such as Postman or Swagger. * Strong knowledge of HttpClient, JSON, REST principles, and HTTP protocols. * Experience with OAuth 2.0, JWT Authentication, and API security testing. * Database validation experience using SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL etc. * Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, Git, and CI/CD pipelines. * Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Skills * Experience in Banking/Financial Services domain. * Knowledge of Microservices architecture. * Experience with API performance testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner. * Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS). * Understanding of Test Pyramid, Shift-Left Testing, and Test Automation Best Practices. Nice-to-Have * Experience automating large-scale API suites (3000+ test cases). * Knowledge of Contract Testing tools (OpenAPI/Swagger, Pact). * Familiarity with message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ). |
