JOB TITLE:Â Â Senior Commercial Pricing Manager
RESPONSIBLE TO:Country Manager - US
LOCATION:Must be able to work from one of APG's offices in London (UK), Kowloon (HK), Guangzhou (China), or New York (US).
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of competitive, commercially robust pricing solutions that align with customer requirements and business objectives.
- Own complex financial modelling, pricing strategies, and business cases, ensuring accurate cost, margin, and risk analysis.
- Translate operational, commercial, and financial requirements into compelling bid submissions and pricing proposals.
- Deliver scenario modelling, sensitivity analysis, and strategic insights to support executive decision-making.
- Partner with Business Development and Operational teams to challenge assumptions, optimise solutions, and maximise profitability.
- Establish and continuously improve best-practice pricing frameworks, tools, and governance processes to drive consistency and efficiency.
- Act as the organisation's pricing SME, collaborating with global stakeholders to share expertise and drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure all pricing submissions comply with internal governance, approval frameworks, and commercial policies.

Pricing:
- Respond to rate requests from sales force; prepare rates and working on pricing tenders
- Provide analysis to support business decisions
- Implement tariffs
- Support profitability growth and expansion of the current business
- Compare supplier proposals; benchmark prices and present findings and recommendations

Reporting:
- Provide accurate and timely financial information to the organization
- Monitor ongoing performance by customer and product (e.g. profitability, revenue)
- Track performance against budgets and analyze variances
- Provide insightful financial analysis to assess impact of decisions and drive results
- Identify opportunities to modify processes & reporting to make them more efficient, whilst maintaining strong accuracy

Bid/tender management:
- Provide active bid management support and lead all day-to-day bid activities for medium and complex bids
- Liaise with Sales, Delivery Solutions, Legal and others to get the information required for each bid.

Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience in commercial pricing, bid management, financial modelling, or commercial finance within a complex business environment.
- Advanced Excel skills, including complex financial modelling; experience with VBA, Power Query, Power Pivot, DAX, and Power BI highly desirable.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance customer requirements, competitiveness, risk, and profitability.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
- Proven experience developing scenario models, sensitivity analyses, and business cases to support strategic decision-making.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across diverse teams, functions, and cultures.
- Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills, ensuring robust audit trails and clear governance of pricing assumptions and outputs.
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Adaptable, resilient, and comfortable challenging assumptions to drive the best commercial outcomes.

Desirable Experience
- Experience within logistics, freight forwarding, eCommerce, supply chain, or related industries.
- Experience supporting large-scale bids, tenders, or complex commercial contracts.
- Experience working in a global organisation.

- In addition to the responsibilities listed above the post holder may be required to perform other duties assigned by the Senior Management Team from time-to-time. Subject to adequate experience and/or training.
