Position Summary / Career Interest:

The University of Kansas Health System, Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicineisseeking an academicallyorientedfull-time Hematopathologist to join our growing department.Thisfacultyposition offers a rich opportunity for involvement ina diverse and high-volume pathology practice, coupled with significant research and teaching prospects. 

The departmentis experiencing rapid growth and hasestablishedasubspecialization practicemodel,performing over 5 million tests andaccessioningover 45,000 surgicalpathologycasesannuallywithalarge case variety. Our Hematopathology service supports a robust Bone Marrow Transplant and Hematology service with over 3,500 Bone Marrow and 6,000 Flow Cytometry cases per year.  

The Department and The University of Kansas Health System, with an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center,provides rich opportunities for clinical and translational research, both within the Department and within the Medical Center.  

The successfulcandidate shouldpossess strong diagnostic skills with subspecialtytrainingorexperiencein Hematopathology. In additiontoparticipatingin diagnostic signoutof 1 or 2subspecialtyareas,the candidatewillbe expected tohave a strong commitment to education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows,anddevelopresearch projectsreflectiveofhis/herowninterests. 

Required Qualifications: 

  • MD, MD/Ph.D., DO or equivalent 

  • Board certified/board eligible in Anatomic/Clinical Pathology 

  • Fellowship training or experience in Hematopathology 

  • Eligibility for licensure in Kansas and Missouri
