Veterinary Assistant

Animal Specialty Center (ASC), a 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital in Yonkers, NY, is seeking compassionate, motivated Veterinary Assistants to join our team.

This is a great opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in veterinary medicine while working alongside experienced technicians, specialists, and emergency clinicians.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Veterinary experience pr
• Veterinary Assistant preferred but not required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods

Key Responsibilities

• Safely handle and restrain patients
• Assist veterinarians and Licensed Veterinary Technicians with patient care and treatments
• Monitor and record patient information and vital signs
• Perform laboratory diagnostics and assist with imaging procedures
• Communicate with clients as directed
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, inventory, and equipment throughout the hospital
• Make and present estimates to clients for diagnostics, treatments, and/or hospitalization

• Communicate with pharmacies regarding patient prescriptions as directed by veterinarians.
