Spray Technician, Fertilizer & Pest (Maintenance)
The Fertilizer Spray Technician provides fertilizer and spraying services for Sunrise Landscape’s commercial clients across private and public properties. This role follows specific application guidelines in accordance with product labels, environmental requirements, county and state restrictions, community and client requirements, and company policies.Â
The Fertilizer Spray Technician is responsible for the daily transport and application of granular fertilizer and chemical products while maintaining quality standards, client satisfaction, and safe work practices. A successful Fertilizer Spray Technician brings spray application experience, equipment knowledge, and the ability to perform physically demanding work in Florida’s outdoor conditions.Â

Key ResponsibilitiesÂ
As one of our Fertilizer Spray Technicians, you will have the following areas of responsibility:Â
Fertilizer & Chemical ApplicationsÂ
- Perform fertilizer and chemical applications, including spreading fertilizer, mixing chemicals, and applying treatmentsÂ
- Maintain client properties by diagnosing and treating insects, diseases, and weedsÂ
- Follow all application guidelines in accordance with product labels, environmental requirements, and company policiesÂ
- Ensure all tasks are completed according to company quality standards and client expectationsÂ
Daily Route Preparation & Field ExecutionÂ
- Prepare for assigned daily routes by loading tools, chemicals, and equipmentÂ
- Transport granular fertilizer products and supplies to and from client locationsÂ
- Perform assigned service duties efficiently and safelyÂ
- Prepare and clean job sites following product applicationsÂ
Equipment & Vehicle ManagementÂ
- Safely operate fertilization and spray equipment, including hose and reel systems and zero-turn spray machinesÂ
- Perform light maintenance on spray equipment and conduct regular equipment inspectionsÂ
- Drive company vehicles, including truck and trailer, to and from assigned client locationsÂ
- Maintain truck, trailer, tools, and equipment in clean and operational conditionÂ
Safety, Teamwork & Client ServiceÂ
- Always adhere to all safety protocols and regulationsÂ
- Ensure personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn properly, including helmets, fall protection, ear plugs, safety glasses, and glovesÂ
- Communicate effectively with team membersÂ
- Deliver excellent customer service and represent Sunrise Landscape professionally on client propertiesÂ
Qualifications & Core CompetenciesÂ
- Minimum of 1 to 2 years of professional spray or fertilization experience requiredÂ
- Previous operation of a hose and reel and zero-turn spray machine requiredÂ
- GI-BMP certification preferred but not requiredÂ
- Ability to read application rates on product labels and perform basic math to calibrate fertilizer spreadersÂ
- Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United StatesÂ
- Dependable and able to work well as part of a teamÂ
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hoursÂ
Physical RequirementsÂ
- Ability to stand, kneel, bend, twist, and squat for prolonged periods throughout the dayÂ
- Ability to use hand tools for extended periods of timeÂ
- Ability to lift 30+ pounds multiple times per day in hot temperaturesÂ
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions including heat, high humidity, and rainÂ
Driver QualificationsÂ
To qualify as a Driver, in addition to the above, you must:Â
- Possess a valid driver’s license issued in the United States for a minimum of three yearsÂ
- Maintain a clean driving record for at least three yearsÂ
- Successfully pass a drug screeningÂ
