Role Purpose:
The IP Operations team within NBCUniversal’s Intellectual Property Analytics, Operations, and Technology (IPAOT) department is seeking an Analyst to support the protection and enforcement of NBCUniversal’s intellectual property rights across digital platforms, with a primary focus on Generative AI-related enforcement.
This role will help monitor, investigate, and address unauthorized uses of NBCUniversal content, brands, characters, trademarks, and other intellectual property across Generative AI platforms, tools, services, and related digital ecosystems. The Analyst will play an important role in supporting NBCUniversal’s emerging Generative AI Piracy Program by identifying infringing AI-generated content, supporting enforcement actions, tracking platform and technology developments, and helping develop scalable monitoring and enforcement workflows as the AI landscape continues to evolve.

The Analyst will also help support NBCUniversal’s APAC anti-piracy program, including enforcement actions against infringing content found on piracy sites and Asia-specific platforms. They will do this while helping to ensure supporting vendors and staff remain consistent with key APAC partner priorities, concerns, and enforcement needs. Additional responsibilities will include monitoring and enforcement across key mobile application marketplaces and major online marketplaces involving counterfeit home entertainment items, such as DVDs, Blu-rays, and related physical media. The ideal candidate will use strong investigative skills and sound judgment to navigate digital platforms. They will also have an interest in emerging technologies and intellectual property protection efforts.
Here you can:
- Conduct investigations to identify unauthorized use of NBCUniversal content, trademarks, brands, characters, logos, and other intellectual property across Generative AI platforms, tools, services, websites, social media platforms, and related digital properties
- Support NBCUniversal’s Generative AI Piracy Program by identifying AI-generated infringement, monitoring emerging platform and technology trends, and helping develop scalable enforcement workflows
- Review suspected infringing AI-generated content and determine appropriate enforcement actions in accordance with company policies and legal guidelines
- Submit and manage takedown requests, platform complaints, and other enforcement actions across digital platforms, service providers, and relevant online intermediaries
- Support NBCUniversal’s APAC anti-piracy program, including enforcement actions against infringing content found on piracy websites, streaming sites, download services, social media platforms, and Asia-specific digital platforms
- Coordinate APAC enforcement workflows across internal stakeholders, vendors, and supporting staff to help ensure activity remains aligned with key APAC partner priorities, concerns, and title-level needs
- Monitor piracy trends, platform activity, repeat offenders, and high-risk infringement patterns across APAC markets and Asia-specific platforms
- Support monitoring and enforcement across key mobile application marketplaces involving unauthorized apps, infringing app listings, brand misuse, and other intellectual property abuse
- Monitor major online marketplaces for counterfeit home entertainment items, including DVDs, Blu-rays, and related physical media using NBCUniversal intellectual property without authorization
- Partner with IP Counsel, regional stakeholders, business units, external vendors, and internal operations teams to support enforcement initiatives and issue resolution
- Assist with reporting, dashboards, metrics, and intelligence products related to Generative AI enforcement, APAC anti-piracy activity, mobile app enforcement, and online marketplace monitoring
- Use AI and analytical tools where appropriate to improve investigative workflows, automate repetitive tasks, support analysis, and increase operational efficiency
- Identify trends and opportunities based on investigative findings, enforcement activity, platform developments, vendor reporting, and recurring operational issues
- Participate in team planning sessions, workflow discussions, continuous improvement initiatives, and additional projects as business needs evolve
Here you'll need:
- Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years of equivalent experience in intellectual property protection, online investigations, anti-piracy, brand protection, trust and safety, digital enforcement, or a related field
- Experience navigating and researching digital platforms, websites, social media platforms, mobile application ecosystems, online marketplaces, and emerging digital services
- Understanding of copyright, trademark infringement, intellectual property rights, digital piracy, brand impersonation, and online enforcement concepts
- Basic understanding of how Generative AI tools function, including how AI-generated images, video, audio, text, and other content may be created, modified, distributed, and misused across digital platforms
- Solid analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams
What we'll look for:
- Experience conducting online investigations involving digital piracy, Generative AI misuse, trademark infringement, impersonation, counterfeit activity, unauthorized commerce, or intellectual property abuse
- Familiarity with Generative AI platforms, large language models (LLMs), AI-generated image and video tools, voice/audio generation tools, and the broader AI content ecosystem
- Experience supporting anti-piracy, trust and safety, content moderation, brand protection, or intellectual property enforcement programs
- Familiarity with APAC digital platforms, piracy sites, regional enforcement challenges, or Asia-specific online ecosystems
- Proficiency in both oral and written language skills, specifically Chinese or Korean, is a significant plus
- Familiarity with major mobile app marketplaces, e-commerce marketplaces, social media platforms, and digital content platforms
- Experience with data analysis, business intelligence tools, Tableau, Power BI, SQL, or similar reporting platforms
- Strong project management, process improvement, and collaboration skills, with the ability to adapt to rapidly evolving technologies
- Passion for protecting NBCUniversal content, brands, intellectual property, and consumer trust in the digital ecosystem
Hybrid: This position currently has a hybrid schedule, which requires contributing from the Universal City, CA office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.
