CFA Institute is seeking an Analyst, Hearing Panel and Disciplinary Review Committee to provide high-level operational and project support to our Disciplinary Review Committee (DRC), a volunteer group responsible for adjudicating disciplinary matters involving CFA Institute members and candidates. Acting as a key liaison between DRC members, Professional Conduct staff, candidates and members, attorneys, and third-party witnesses, you will coordinate hearings, meetings, records, communications, and committee activities while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and accuracy. The position may be based in Charlottesville, Virginia, or remotely, with occasional travel to Charlottesville as needed.
What You’ll Do
- Coordinate the scheduling, communications, documentation, and logistics associated with disciplinary hearings
- Support compliance with CFA Institute Rules of Procedure and other relevant procedural requirements
- Draft agendas, schedules, correspondence, hearing panel documents, meeting minutes, and other committee materials
- Serve as a primary point of coordination between DRC members, Professional Conduct staff, candidates and members, attorneys, witnesses, and other stakeholders
- Maintain confidential records and SharePoint resources, as well as communication and process templates
- Support implementation and use of the DRC case management system
- Respond to procedural questions and consult with legal counsel when appropriate
- Coordinate confidentiality and conflict of interest statements, oaths, distribution agreements, and related documentation
- Support volunteer management activities, including nominations, volunteer hour tracking, databases, training, and committee initiatives
- Assist with program budgets, reimbursements, credit processing, and opportunities to manage costs effectively
- Coordinate virtual and in-person meetings, training sessions, and working groups, including travel and accommodation arrangements
- Provide technology support to DRC members and coordinate with CFA Institute IT colleagues when needed
- Work across teams to track actions, follow up on deliverables, and keep committee activities and projects moving forward
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant professional experience
- Proven experience working in a professional office environment
- Paralegal experience is strongly preferred, with legal operations or similar operational management experience also advantageous
- Experience coordinating projects, establishing schedules, and taking ownership through successful completion
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and changing expectations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a professional, diplomatic approach to stakeholder interactions
- Sound judgement and the ability to build credibility and rapport with senior leaders and other stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with a high degree of professionalism
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and consulting skills, combined with the confidence to ask questions and seek clarity
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and database systems
- Fluency in English, with additional language skills considered advantageous
- Experience working in a multinational or globally oriented environment is preferred

At CFA Institute, we are committed to transparency and equity in our hiring process. In compliance with wage transparency laws in many of the jurisdictions in which we recruit, we provide the following information regarding compensation for this position: Expected salary will start at or around $72,300 per year. All salary ranges are subject to adjustment based on experience, education, and other factors relevant to the position. Additional benefits include eligibility for an annual incentive bonus, a 12% employer contribution to a 401(k) or pension plan, and a comprehensive medical benefits package.
